Jeff Sessions Attacks Budget Deal With ‘Bricks of Truth’

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL)  tore into the congressional budget deal on the Senate floor, arguing it is being jammed through without sufficient acknowledgment of its serious flaws.

“Once again, a massive deal, crafted behind closed doors, is being rushed through Congress under a threat of panic,” he said. “The Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015 serves as a reminder that the most important and controversial legislation is still being drafted in secret, with little or no input from the members of this chamber.”
Pointing to what he called “bricks of truth,” Sessions argued his opposition to the bill, calling for more time to consider the legislation and urging that it not be hastily passed.
“At its core, this deal with President Obama provides what President Obama has demanded throughout,” Sessions, a former budget committee chairman, said.
Namely, he pointed to the increase in federal spending caps for two years and the elimination of the current debt limit until March of 2017.
“This is a covert, a clever way of raising the debt ceiling without having to engage in a real discussion of Washington’s runaway spending problem,” he said. “It ensures that no further serious conversation about our debt course or any corresponding action to alter it will take place.”
Additionally, Sessions took issue with what he said is the cementing of a precedent to tether increases in defense spending with domestic spending.
“How silly is this? What possible logical argument can you make for this?” he said, calling it “deeply troubling.”

Sessions also took aim at the accounting “gimmicks” in the bill that he earlier decried in a joint statement with Rep. Moe Brooks

Wednesday: The use of “tricks” like double-counting for savings and raiding the Social Security Trust fund to bolster the disability program. “We’re losing momentum,” he said. “Several years ago we were in serious discussions about the dangers we face financially, and that has been eroded.”
The Alabamian stressed the need for more time, saying there is no need to pass the bill immediately.
“There’s no crisis that requires us to pass it today,” he said. “There are a number of interim steps we could take to allow this bill to be out there for the members to actually study it, to offer amendments on it, and maybe improve it and for the America people to understand just what it is the members of Congress are doing to their Social Security and the fiscal debt of America.”
Sessions pointed to the GOPs ability to negotiate spending reforms with Obama in the 2011 debt limit deal even with a smaller majority in the House and no majority in the Senate.
“And now there are 54 Republicans in the chamber and the House has a huge majority. So I think we can do better and I don’t think this should be rushed through the Congress and I would object to its passage,” he concluded.

TheTownCrier had a disagreement with a radio host yesterday.

His guest was a state representative, a republican,  who has introduced a bill to give illegal aliens drivers license.   Their conversation was polite with no objection to the bill by the host.

  I commented to the host that the lawmaker should have been given some challenge about this...why doesn't the lawmaker promote existing immigration law, instead of rewarding illegal behavior.

The host, usually a fair chap, decided to get ALL righteous and indignant, informing me how stupid I was...that a mere state rep can't do anything about federal law.

BALDERDASH!   The excuses are getting old...and dangerous!
If that were true,  he ought to butt out and not defy  'federal law' instead of pushing a state bill to reward aliens!  If he can inject himself into NON enforcement, he can inject himself to push enforcement as well!

First, this state is overrun with illegal alien gangbangers.  It is considered one of four sanctuary states out of 50.   Drive by shootings, stabbings, rapes, and graffiti ALL over the place, every day, armed Mexican drug cartels growing plantations on our public lands....800 miles from the border.

And what does our REPUBLICAN/CONSERVATIVE State Rep, Dennis Richardson do...REWARD THE LAWBREAKERS instead with the privilege to drive legally while in the country ....

This UNDERMINES federal law....which says I must show a birth certificate, be a CITIZEN of the USA to get a driver's license!  It violates a federal identification law enacted to protect national security after the 2001 terrorist attacks.

New Mexico is still trying to repeal giving licenses to illegal aliens...at least they are TRYING!

Report: 40 states passed immigration legislation in 2011 ...

The laws range from hiring restrictions to voter identification and allowing in-state tuition for illegal immigrants, according to the report released Tuesday by the National Conference of State Legislatures. 
The numbers show a slight decrease in activity from last year, but every state and Puerto Rico proposed legislation dealing on the issue in the first six months of 2011.

  "Immigration impacts every policy issue there is, and people are trying to figure out how to manage it, for better or for worse, because the federal government won't."
Among the findings in the report, released during the council's annual meeting in San Antonio:
** 14 states included funding for immigration initiatives in their budgets.
** Governors vetoed 12 pieces of legislation, including bills related to social services and immigration.
** Ten states enacted legislation requiring businesses or contractors to use the government E-Verify program to ensure the legal status of workers.
** Five states -- Alabama, Georgia, Utah, Indiana and South Carolina -- enacted omnibus laws inspired by Arizona's 2010 law, which gave police the power to enforce immigration. All have been challenged in court.
** 19 states passed 38 laws addressing law enforcement.
** Georgia, Kansas, Texas, and Vermont created or strengthened state human trafficking laws.
** Three states - Alabama, Kansas and Utah - passed voter ID bills dealing with immigration.[snip]

What I find most curious is the pro enforcement stand of this very same legislator stated just a few years ago....

When you as a citizen go into the DMV to renew your Oregon driver license you will have to prove that you are legally in the United States.  You will have to provide your Social Security number, a real birth certificate or valid passport and proof that you live in Oregon.  All an illegal alien would have to get a special license is to show a Mexican Matricular card and proof that they live in Oregon.  Maybe an Oregon Trail Card will suffice.　　

The most important document a Mexican drug cartel dealer might possess is a valid state driver license.  It would enable to them to drive up and down I-5 and sell their drugs. If a state trooper happened to pull them over for a traffic violation, the drug dealer could produce his special Oregon license and the state trooper wouldn’t have probable cause to search his vehicle.　

Oregon ranks fourth in the nation in per capita illicit drug use.  Last year 240 people died of drug over dose, up 20% from the previous year.  More people died in 2011 of drug overdose than were killed (208) driving a car in Oregon.  And now the governor wants to give a special driver license to illegal aliens.  Welcome drug dealers!

I just don't get Oregon politicians.  They seemingly do everything in their power to attract every transient and illegal alien in the country, while at the same time implement policies that repel businesses and drive away high wage earners.
Why is Oregon so desperate to become a poor sanctuary state?  You're not going to be able to fund all of those grandiose social engineering programs on the backs of minimum wage jobs.
Anyways, I thought that Oregon was originally forced to not issue government ID's to illegal aliens because of the Real ID Act.

Why does anyone want to legitimize anything related to a person who is here illegally?  How can anyone legally be doing anything if their very presence here is illegal?  What's next?  Short-term social security cards? 
I am not an anti-immigration zealot.  The vast majority of us are Americans because someone in our past immigrated.  This is a national issue and should be addressed on the national stage.  Oregon doesn't need to be a leader in confusing the issues of immigration and legal behavior.

Agent Diaz was prosecuted and jailed after the Mexican government filed a complaint alleging that he pulled on the handcuffs of a suspected illegal-immigrant drug smuggler. Two oversight agencies cleared him of wrongdoing, but the U.S. Department of Justice decided to take on the case anyway.

After a mistrial, Diaz was eventually convicted earlier this year. He could face well over a decade in prison. Because former law enforcement officers are regularly targeted by other inmates, Diaz has been in solitary confinement ever since.

HERMAN CAIN says voter ID laws not discriminatory: Civil rights groups encourage voter fraud by opposing voter identification bills, Herman Cain said Wednesday.

“The people who fight against having some type of statewide voter ID with the picture are the very ones who know that all of the fraud is going on,” Cain said of the politically charged issue.

Hidalgo County Sheriff Department has confirmed that New Mexico rancher, Larry Link, was murdered earlier today on his property.

Sources are reporting that the rancher was responding to an alleged- illegal alien on his property at Stein’s Ghost Town when the he was gunned-down. The murder took place on the southwest side of the state near the Arizona border on Interstate 10 at mile marker three.

The Hidalgo Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene, only to find the rancher had already died.

Located in the mouth of Cave Creek on the eastern slope of the Chiracahua Mountains, it is not much more than a hole in a road, which continues west to the town of Paradise, and eventually ascends to the top of the mountain at a campground located at a spot called Rustler Park. The small populace of Portal is partially made up of retirees, wealthy enough to own a piece of the pricey land; not a few who could be described as liberal academics. A short distance up the canyon is The Southwest Research Station of The Museum of Natural History. This area, and the Chiracahua range as a whole, is the best example of neo-tropical bird habitat in the United States. It is the home of: the greater and lesser long-nosed bat, the famous trogon, the so-called “endangered” spotted owl, and hundreds of other rare species. It is bird watcher’s paradise. It is burning down.

About a week ago, what is now being called Horseshoe Fire #2 was started by illegal aliens in the area of Burro Springs near the headwaters of Horseshoe Canyon. Border Patrol agents tracked four aliens to the very start of the fire. The first Forest Service fire fighters to arrive at the site observed the same tracks. Horseshoe Fire #1 was started near the same spot almost exactly a year ago, also ignited by illegal aliens. In the last 3 years alone no less than 11 fires have been started by illegal aliens in the Chiracahua Mountains and the adjacent Peloncillo Mountains. No less than 120 thousand acres have burned. The cost to the American taxpayers to fight these fires is nearing $70 million. The U.S. Forest Service itself admitted that Horseshoe Fire #1 cost in excess of $10 million to fight.

EL PASO - It's disgusting, unsanitary and it's going to leave you shaking your head. Migrant workers have turned a Downtown El Paso alley into a gigantic toilet.

Human urine stains the walls and feces is piled up in an alley that's just blocks away from the Convention Center and other tourist hotspots.

"If they don't let you go inside, you have to go anywhere. That's why El Paso is like that," Roberto Miranda said.

Miranda is a migrant worker. He sleeps outside of the Farm Workers Center, like at-least one-hundred other people, and he waits for work in the early morning hours. The disgusting alley is around the corner from the center. Miranda admits the migrant workers us it as their personal toilet.[snip]

Flashing suspect arrested near elementary school

MEDFORD, Ore. -- A man was arrested Wednesday afternoon for exposing his genitals, just steps away from Washington Elementary in Medford.

Police caught the suspected flasher, 19-year-old Sergio Cortes Gomez, on his bike. They recieved calls from parents of the school, who said he was exposing himself in an alleyway.

Although it didn't take long for police to track him down, they had problems communicating with him.

"It appears that he's deaf," said Sgt. Phil Eastman with the Medford Police Department.

Gomez was handcuffed outside of the Peach Street Market & Deli, on the corner of Peach street and 13th Street.

"It's disappointing," said Leslie McKenzie, who was working at the market when Gomez was arrested. "I would think people could behave themselves around children. But unfortunately that's just not the case."

Police said Gomez lives in the neighborhood where he was arrested. McKenzie said he often comes into the store.

"He wears a hearing aid," she said. "He doesn't speak English at all, only speaks Spanish but does best with sign language."

Gomez was issued a citation and was released. He will soon have to appear in court.

"We take this very seriously," said Sgt. Eastman. "Especially when it's in front of an elementary school." (STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!)
