The saddest part about these fires in California is that they are self inflicted. Californians should not allow such mismanagement to continue. At what point will commonsense forest management practices win out over the ideologically driven environmental lobby? Soon, I hope, or Paradise might not be the only thing lost.   "

How California’s Governor Turned Latest Fire Into Unprecedented Disaster

Months ago, California Gov. Jerry Brown urged state lawmakers to loosen restrictive logging regulations put in place to appease environmentalists — a move that appears to have confirmed that President Trump’s recent critiques of state logging practices was correct.
The Santa Cruz Sentinel reported back in August that Brown was proposing one of the most significant changes to the state’s logging rules in nearly half a century.
“Gov. Jerry Brown is proposing broad new changes to California’s logging rules that would allow landowners to cut larger trees and build temporary roads without obtaining a permit as a way to thin more forests across the state,” the paper reported.
Environmentalists in California weren’t on board. They’ve been pushing for years to make California’s logging rules more restrictive, not less — but forest fires in recent years appeared to change the calculus for certain lawmakers.-----------------------------

NEWS you need to know! The Border Report

"At least they aren't Muslims!"

That's what we're often told by the open border crowd about the illegal aliens arriving through our Southern Border.
Oh, really? Is this (read on!) what you call 'Christianity'? Would 'Christians' facilitate the invasion of radical Islamists??? Well??

Illegal invaders and their supporters who pretend to take the moral high ground, should take note:

“You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” one of those 'commandments' From the King James version

DOJ has another Border Patrol agent in jail for doing his job!

Jailed Border Agent Jesus Diaz Denied Bond; Family Speaks Out
by Alex Newman
Monday, 27 June 2011

Agent Diaz was prosecuted and jailed after the Mexican government filed a complaint alleging that he pulled on the handcuffs of a suspected illegal-immigrant drug smuggler. Two oversight agencies cleared him of wrongdoing, but the U.S. Department of Justice decided to take on the case anyway.

After a mistrial, Diaz was eventually convicted earlier this year. He could face well over a decade in prison. Because former law enforcement officers are regularly targeted by other inmates, Diaz has been in solitary confinement ever since.

U.S. District Court judge Alia Ludlum refused the request of Diaz to be let out on bond prior to sentencing. His wife, Diana (picture, above), who still works for the Border Patrol, said judge Ludlum denied the motion because, according to the court, her husband is a “danger to the community.”[snip]

Attacks on U.S. Border Patrol agents increase- NAFBPO

[snip]MEXICO – The clashes between drug traffickers and agents of the U.S. Border Patrol has increased 200 percent, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) . According to data published by the digital version of El Universal , it was members of the Gulf cartel who attacked Border Patrol agents on June 9 in Texas, noting that criminal organizations are desperate and do not want to lose more drug shipments.

Between fiscal years 2004 and 2009, according to the Department of Customs and Border Protection, as quoted by El Universal , the attacks grew from 356 to 1,073, ie 200 percent. According to Steve McGraw, director of the Department of Public Safety Texas, who said that criminal gangs are uswing the most advanced weapons technology, have an unlimited budget, and they have no rules to follow and have very good countertactics. Of open shootouts in the last 18 months, according to the official, he added 44 suspected drug traffickers attacked U.S. agents.

TTC Observation/2012

The sudden media obsession with Michelle Bachmann may be just a ploy to avoid mentioning HERMAN CAIN. CBS, PBS and most of them reported Bachmann/Romney being neck to neck in recent polling and reported Newt and the rest of the losers at the bottom of the poll...BUT they avoided # 3..HERMAN CAIN. NO! Don't want the public to know about the likes of conservatives like him and Allen West!

And Sarah Palin? Is she running???? DEJA VU! Baby! Fred Thompson pulled this same stunt, couldn't bother to show for debates, wouldn't declare, kept everyone from even looking at anyone else! And the same republicans are falling for it again! And what do Palin and ol' Fred have have in common??? JOHN MCCAIN, that's what. 57 states (according to our president!) and Palin chooses Arizona to move to.....curious!

HERMAN CAIN says voter ID laws not discriminatory: Civil rights groups encourage voter fraud by opposing voter identification bills, Herman Cain said Wednesday.

“The people who fight against having some type of statewide voter ID with the picture are the very ones who know that all of the fraud is going on,” Cain said of the politically charged issue.

“When you have civil rights organizations who want to jump up and start talking about how it’s in violation of civil rights, that is absolutely not the case. All they’re trying to do is protect the voter fraud that they know is going on," he said during a conference call with tea party activists, following a speech in Aiken, S.C.

WHO else is mentioning ANYTHING about anything related to immigration???

Maybe the folks producing the following have the right idea:

Herman Cain on immigration: [snip]

Illegal immigration has only exacerbated illegal activity, such as the horrendous crimes of drug smuggling and human trafficking. Illegal immigrants who are repeat offenders are harder to track, making it difficult for law enforcement to prevent crime. Further, weak borders have caused a compounding problem of terrorists assimilating with illegal immigrants, crossing the border with them and entering the U.S.

Illegal immigration also puts a tremendous strain on America’s entitlement and health care systems. Illegal immigrants are typically uninsured and cannot afford to pay for their medical care, driving up costs for all Americans, even those actually insured. In fact, several hospitals in the U.S. have declared bankruptcy as a result of the costs of caring for illegal immigrants.

We must secure our borders, enforce our laws and promote the existing path to citizenship. Protecting our nation’s sovereignty should be a paramount concern of those elected to lead us, not an afterthought or a reaction once the problem becomes even worse. Further, taking a stand on the issue does not mean one lacks compassion, but instead, that one respects the rule of law and the importance of not becoming a lawless nation.

A MUST read on Gunwalker/FAST AND FURIOUS

"Colossal Failure of Leadership"

[snip] Border agent Brian Terry died upon the dirt of the U.S. Mexican border, fatally wounded by weapons knowingly allowed by the American government to enter into the hands of drug cartel criminals. On Wednesday, June 15th, the story of Brian Terry was told by his fellow border agents and family members to members of Congress. The testimony was both stunning in its emotion, and damning in its condemnation of an ill-conceived government program and failure of an Obama Department of Justice that put border agents and citizens in direct danger on both sides of the border.

Roberty Heyer, who is both the cousin of Brian Terry, as well as a current member of the Secret Service, pleaded with members of Congress to help ensure that “all those involved in Project Gunrunner that facilitated the death of Brian Terry be prosecuted.” Agent Heyer had also earlier indicated his concern that FBI officials appeared “hesitant” to involve themselves in the still ongoing Gunrunner investigation.

Mexico vs. USA...Hypocrisy in Action

From an LA Times article about the insulting of our U.S. soccer team and this nation on OUR soil, by an overwhelmingly Latino audience during a U.S. vs Mexico match at the Rose Bowl

“I love this country, it has given me everything that I have, and I’m proud to be part of it,” said Victor Sanchez, a 37-year-old Monrovia resident wearing a Mexico jersey. “But yet, I didn’t have a choice to come here, I was born in Mexico, and that is where my heart will always be.”

This happens every year.....and every year it shocks the senses. Or it should. But by next week, most of us will forget about it, pretend Mexico is not our enemy, like we do every year. As the Obama administration ushers in an unconstitutional AMNESTY, and illegal alien invaders burn us out one state at a time , we will sit by allowing DHS to incrementally ignore one immigration law after another, being more concerned about some politicians kid, American Idol or the gossip de' jour than the incremental loss of our sovereignty.

Victor Davis Hanson says it best today in his article "Mexifornia, quite Literally!"

"When a foreign nation is treated as the home team, and when the home team is booed in the Rose Bowl, I think we can see why the entire open-borders, non-enforcement, ‘La Raza’ paradigm of tribal chauvinism based on ethnic solidarity has been proven an abject failure — summed up by one word, “hypocrisy.” Of course, if America asks nothing of the would-be immigrant — no legality upon entrance, no knowledge of the English language or American customs, no proof of autonomy and independence from government entitlement — then tens of thousands of American residents booing the very mention of America is logical and would, of course, continue until and unless fundamental ideas about illegal immigration, assimilation, and national identity change.

QUESTION!

Has anyone seen ANY of our fine republican presidential candidates address any of these border and immigration problems???????

Where is their outrage over GUNWALKER??????

Herman Cain and Michelle Bachmann are the ONLY two who have come close!

The Burning of America...One illegal alien fire at a time!

Horseshoe 2 fire becomes 5th largest wildfire in Arizona historyLink
HEADLINE:
SW area issues warning for firefighters working near US/Mexico
border 6/2/2011

[snip]In what seems to be an annual occurrence, the Southwest Geographic Area has issued another “Safety Alert” with the subject: “US – Mexico Border Fire Operations Safety”. Saying the border area has become “increasingly dangerous” to firefighters, they listed in the two-page document some watchout situations:
According to the Arizona Central:

As the Horseshoe Two Fire in remote southeastern Arizona has grown, so has its cost - $19 million so far.

The fire, now the sixth largest in Arizona history, has consumed 66,290 acres and firefighters say it will grow because the rugged terrain has made it an additional challenge to contain it. The terrain has meant additional transportation costs such as helicopters to move people and equipment.

The Rodeo-Chedeski Fire remains the largest in Arizona history and cost $43 million.

Documented in the archives of TheTownCrier are the many fires in California, and the Pacific NW ignited by illegal alien drug cartels. Alone, one of the largest, the La Brea, consumed 88,000 acres in California.
Investigators revealed that the La Brea Fire was started by a cooking fire in a marijuana drug trafficking operation.

Headline: AZ Rancher: Illegals Have Set 11 Fires in the Last 3 Years

The Tucson Citizen reported:

Ed Ashurst is a rancher who lives over by the Chricahua Mountains in eastern Arizona. Here is a commentary he wrote on Sunday May 15th about the huge fire that is burning down the countryside over there:

There Are No Cool Heads in Portal
By Ed Ashurst

[snip] Portal, Arizona is a beautiful place. Located in the mouth of Cave Creek on the eastern slope of the Chiracahua Mountains, it is not much more than a hole in a road, which continues west to the town of Paradise, and eventually ascends to the top of the mountain at a campground located at a spot called Rustler Park. The small populace of Portal is partially made up of retirees, wealthy enough to own a piece of the pricey land; not a few who could be described as liberal academics. A short distance up the canyon is The Southwest Research Station of The Museum of Natural History. This area, and the Chiracahua range as a whole, is the best example of neo-tropical bird habitat in the United States. It is the home of: the greater and lesser long-nosed bat, the famous trogon, the so-called “endangered” spotted owl, and hundreds of other rare species. It is bird watcher’s paradise. It is burning down.

About a week ago, what is now being called Horseshoe Fire #2 was started by illegal aliens in the area of Burro Springs near the headwaters of Horseshoe Canyon. Border Patrol agents tracked four aliens to the very start of the fire. The first Forest Service fire fighters to arrive at the site observed the same tracks. Horseshoe Fire #1 was started near the same spot almost exactly a year ago, also ignited by illegal aliens. In the last 3 years alone no less than 11 fires have been started by illegal aliens in the Chiracahua Mountains and the adjacent Peloncillo Mountains. No less than 120 thousand acres have burned. The cost to the American taxpayers to fight these fires is nearing $70 million. The U.S. Forest Service itself admitted that Horseshoe Fire #1 cost in excess of $10 million to fight.

Feces & Urine Problem In Downtown El Paso

EL PASO - It's disgusting, unsanitary and it's going to leave you shaking your head. Migrant workers have turned a Downtown El Paso alley into a gigantic toilet.

Human urine stains the walls and feces is piled up in an alley that's just blocks away from the Convention Center and other tourist hotspots.

"If they don't let you go inside, you have to go anywhere. That's why El Paso is like that," Roberto Miranda said.

Miranda is a migrant worker. He sleeps outside of the Farm Workers Center, like at-least one-hundred other people, and he waits for work in the early morning hours. The disgusting alley is around the corner from the center. Miranda admits the migrant workers us it as their personal toilet.[snip]

The War Next Door is here....800 miles from the Mexican Border

__________________

Headline: Record marijuana grow pulled up by the roots in Siskiyou County

full version video: http://www.ktvl.com/video/?videoId=34835560001&play=nowLink

What is truly interesting about this story is that the local CBS TV affiliate, KTVL Channel 10 finally ‘gets it’. They actually did some reporting on these pot farms being run on public lands by organized Mexican Drug Cartels after years of many of us pleading with them to inform the public of this danger. What is frightening, is how real that danger has become.

This marijuana grow stretched 2 miles. For years, our local sheriffs have fought these incursions, only to watch them grow more widespread. Siskiyou county is a conservative, quiet sparsely populated huge land mass. Along peaceful country roads that have been settled by old families, independent, self reliant types, late in the night citizens now hear voices in Spanish conversing as they walk up and down ‘patrolling’.

We knew the cartels were armed, that they contained the worst elements of Mexican organized crime; the Zeta’s, various cartels, MS-13, awol military. What we didn’t know, is now that their enterprise of growing on millions of acres of USA land became so successful , is that now the cartels are at war with each other over ‘territory’ and contraband crops. One group may go in and cultivate the crop, only to have it taken with force by a better armed gang.

We have been warned for years in the counties of No.California and So. Oregon to stay clear of the ‘woods’, to never approach anything that looked like a pot farm.
Now we are being warned of the war between the cartels taking place on our peaceful country lanes. It is easier for the cartels to recruit laborers, with less risk to grow on these ‘protected sanctuaries’ than it is in Mexico. Where shall we go to escape?

Last week these cartels burned 860,000 acres in California. Will we become ‘collateral’ damage to their fires or their bullets? Unlike Mexico, in what has become an every day occurrence , we’ve had no beheadings...yet.

Our Department of Homeland security is spending billions in Mexico to help them fight these cartels there, to keep any of our guns from entering Mexico. But they say they don’t have the money to stop these invading armies from crossing the border and infiltrating our property. This congress refuses to fund a fence, but they’ll fund our people to go to Mexico and tell you this entire problem is the fault of the USA because some of our guns go to Mexico. When their criminal cast-offs are stopped from coming in, our guns will stop going out since the same people are working both sides of the border.

Another headline that just bolsters this situation today:

Mexican drug cartels now recruiting hit men from U.S. military
Examiner/Mike Cutler ^ | Aug. 20, 2009 | Norfolk Crime Examiner Dave Gibson

Pfc. Michael Jackson Apodaca, 18 who was arrested Monday, is accused of working as a paid hit man, and assassinating a member of the Juarez Cartel who had become an informant for U.S. authorities.

Along with Apodaca, El Paso police have charged Ruben Rodriguez Dorado, 30, and Christopher Andrew Duran, 17 with capital murder.

The informant, Jose Daniel Gonzalez Galeana, was shot several times at his home on May 15.

Both Dorado and Duran told detectives that Apodaca was the one paid to carry out the execution. Witness accounts along with the police investigation have confirmed this.

Pfc. Apodaca enlisted in the Army in September 2008. He is stationed with the 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade at Fort Bliss.

While this is the first known instance of a U.S. soldier working as an assassin for the drug cartels, this may simply be a consequence of the evolving threat posed to this country by the cartels, as well as a result of the criminal gang activity which now exists in the U.S. military.

In April 2009, the FBI released a statement on the growing problem of gangs in the military, and the threat they now pose to U.S. police officers. What follows is an excerpt from that statement:

“Gang members with military training pose a unique threat to law enforcement personnel because of the distinctive military skills that they possess and their willingness to teach these skills to fellow gang members. While the number of gang members trained by the military is unknown, the threat that they pose to law enforcement is potentially significant, particularly if gang members trained in weapons, tactics, and planning pass this instruction on to other gang members.”

The National Gang Assessment Center has identified the following Latino street and prison gangs as having gang members who were trained in the U.S. military:

-18th Street Gang

-Florencia 13

-Latin Kings

-Mexican Mafia (La Eme)

-MS 13

-Norteños

-Sureños

The military does not currently keep data on gang activity within their ranks. However, FBI gang investigator Jennifer Simon said in a recent article: "Gang membership in the U.S. Armed Forces is disproportional to the U.S. population.”

The prevailing estimate among most experts is that out of every 100 people who enter the military, at least two are gang members.

One of the reasons for the increasing number of gang members joining the military, is the fact that the lowering of recruiting standards, mainly by the Army. Of course, this is due to the two wars dragging on in Afghanistan and Iraq.

According to the Michael D. Palm Center at the University of California, between 2003 and 2006, recruiters allowed 4,230 convicted criminals into the Army.

A note from Mike Cutler, former INS agent, who sent out this article:

"Today, with some 230 American cities being identified as being infested by the extremely violent Mexican drug cartels with additional cities also being infested by other similarly violent gangs, the potential for extreme violence being perpetrated against our citizens and our law enforcement officials is obviously a serious threat and must be dealt with swiftly and decisively by our federal government.

It is now estimated that there are, already, more gang members in our country than sworn police officers.

The discussions about the creation of a massive amnesty program for millions of illegal aliens as we are hearing at the present is nothing short of alarming! I you add the number of alien gang members with the number of United States citizens who have been and continue to be recruited into gangs now, the numbers are truly staggering!

It is a virtual certainty that such an amnesty would provide gang members with even more opportunities to enlist in our military to receive the training that would enable them to do to the United States what Los Zetas is now doing to Mexico.

You might say that the "handwriting is on the wall" and in this case the handwriting is the gang graffiti that is used to mark off territory by gangs seeking to control their turf..

Furthermore, it is unconscionable that this issue, of gang violence, is never addressed by so-called "pro-immigrant" organizations. These folks know damned well that these threats are often used by the various ethnic gangs and that this is not limited to just Latino gangs but is used by every gang from every foreign country and ethnicity.

The outrage is that often lawful immigrants who arrive in our country expecting to live a life free of the violence and threats of violence that terrified them in their home countries quickly find that the same thugs who made their lives miserable back home have managed to come to the United States and continue to prey upon them and their families both in the United States and in their home countries as well.

This is certainly not the "American Dream" but does represent one hell of a nightmare!
It is now estimated that there are, already, more gang members in our country than sworn police officers.

The large scale apathy demonstrated by citizens of this nation has emboldened elected representatives to all but ignore the needs of the average American citizen in a quest for massive campaign funds and the promises of votes to be ostensibly delivered by special interest groups. There is much that we cannot do but there is one thing that We the People absolutely must do- we must stop sitting on the sidelines!

The collective failure of We the People to get involved in make our concerns known to our politicians have nearly made the concerns of the great majority of the citizens of this nation all but irrelevant to the politicians.

I implore you to get involved!”

Sydney Morning Herald

The fires that hit a protected forest area in mountains close to the north-western California city of Santa Barbara could have been started by Mexican drug traffickers, officials say.

"The reality is that we could have an army out there and not be able to cover all of that ground," Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown told reporters, saying he based his claim on the size of a marijuana farm and equipment found where the fire began.

His statement confirmed claims made over the weekend by officials at Los Padres National Forest.

Some 30,000 marijuana plants, some as high as six feet (1.83 metres), were found in a remote forest area officials say was likely being used as an illegal pot garden by a Mexico-based drug operation.

A special team of US Forest Service, a counternarcotics police unit and investigators from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department uncovered stacks of propane tanks, irrigation tubing, empty fertilizer canisters, a cooking stove and a semi-automatic rifle, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The major Los Padres fire has been burning since August 8, destroying over 88,650 acres (35,875 hectares) but is now 75 per cent under control, Calfire said.

Local counternarcotics units had travelled through the same area several months ago and were surprised by the new find.

So far this year, US Forest Service and Santa Barbara County counternarcotics agents have uprooted a record 225,058 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $US675 million ($816 million) dollars.

In July, agents pulled 113,000 plants at a camp not far from the site where the fire broke out.

Santa Barbara is about 350 kilometres from the US border with Mexico between San Diego and Tijuana, one of the most patrolled points along the nearly 3000-kilometre long divide between the two North American countries.

85,000 Acre California Fire caused by Mexican Drug Cartels - confirmed!

TheTownCrier has been warning this would happen for years! Our DHS, governor and hispandering politicians have chosen to ignore it....instead they cut water off to farmers!

Fire Investigators Determine Cause of La Brea Fire

Incident: La Brea Wildfire (84,150 acres, 25% contained)

Date: August 15, 2009

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GOLETA, CA... A week-long investigation by U.S. Forest Service Special Agents, Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit and Fire Investigators has revealed the cause of the La Brea Fire. Investigators revealed that the La Brea Fire was started by a cooking fire in a marijuana drug trafficking operation.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit has confirmed that the camp at the origin of the fire was an illegal marijuana operation believed to be run by a Mexican National Drug Organization. The Narcotics Unit has been working in the area within the last month eradicating other nearby marijuana cultivation sites.

Although the La Brea Fire started more than one week ago, there is evidence that the unburned marijuana garden area has been occupied within the last several days. The Narcotics Unit has secured the camp area which was located in remote and rugged terrain. It is also believed that the suspects are still within the San Rafael Wilderness trying to leave the area on foot. Officials warn not to approach anyone who looks suspicious but to instead contact the nearest law enforcement agency.[snip]http://inciweb.org/incident/announcements/article/1803/9150/

Please note the huge holes dug to plant. The land is scraped of any natural vegetation. Water is piped in from the natural watershed. Chemicals are spread over hundreds of acres.
