The Mexican border has moved 800 miles north- On Lou Dobbs Tonight!

Lou Dobbs Tonight/ Broken Borders CNN Airs9/13/06

And up next, we'll take you on a massive manhunt and raid as authorities try to crush Mexican drug rings operating inside the United States. Stay with us.

DOBBS: Mexican drug cartels are operating not only with impunity across the border with Mexico, but with impunity deep within the United States; 800 miles from Mexico, drug traffickers are now operating on the California/Oregon border in our nation's national forests.

Authorities, this week, seized $80 million of marijuana. But officials say the bust was only the tip of the iceberg.

CASEY WIAN, CNN (on the ground in the Siskiyou Mountains): Just after dawn Tuesday, 100 law enforcement officers meet at a staging area in the Klamath National Forest.

They're preparing to raid a massive marijuana growing operation linked to Mexican drug traffickers. These rugged mountains provide perfect cover for huge marijuana gardens, which are overwhelming the tiny Siskiyou County Sheriff's Department. So, it's working with nearly a dozen federal, state and local agencies.

As the operations commander begins a reconnaissance flight, medics get ready.

DARRELL FROST, SISKIYOU COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPT.: The Mexican cartel type stuff, is these folks are willing to protect their marijuana groves and so the potential for trauma from gunshot wounds is high.

WIAN: Deputies head out to set up a perimeter hoping to catch growers before they flee. Then the raid begins. (on camera): Marijuana gardens are located in such remote terrain that sheriff deputies must be air lifted in by helicopter, two at a time on a rope. Another chopper hovers above the garden providing cover in case these growers shoot at the incoming deputies.

From the air, the marijuana is easy to spot. On the ground, it's overwhelming, thousands of plants eight feet tall.

SHERIFF RICK RIGGINS, SISKIYOU COUNTY CALIFORNIA: This is the bud. These plants probably have a couple of more months before they get there. But this is where the money is at.

WIAN: And the money appears headed to Mexico. From the living quarters and supplies, to sophisticated irrigation systems, these gardens bare all the signs of Mexican drug traffickers. The SWAT team pursued about a dozen men though the thick timber.

WIAN: Though they escaped, deputies seized plenty of evidence, including boxes of .45 caliber bullets, notebooks in Spanish and a cell phone. Investigators are tracking the kingpin.

What we have to do is gather every bit of information we can from in here and the intel that we can and try to put it together to track these guys back.

WIAN: Meanwhile other agents begin cutting the plants. Each one worth about $5,000; 12 hours after the operation began, deputies continue to stack load after load of dope. They cut 12,000 plants the first day. The two-day total, about 16,000 plants with a street value of $80 million.

LT. JIM BETTS, SISKIYOU COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPT.: We've got a rural area, that hunting season is going to be starting in another week. There's going to be a lot of people coming into the woods here. And for the safety of those people, we needed to get this out of here.

WIAN: Eight hundred miles from the Mexican border, Mexican drug traffickers are spreading throughout this and other national forests. But a familiar problem is on the traffickers' side. Federal money for operations like this is scarce.

Casey Wian, CNN, Siskiyou County, California.

[Note: Since this report, KTVL TV Medford, OR. reports LEOs are still locating farms in this area of Siskiyou County. These farms clear cut the land and terraced out in the open on the hillside. They get braver and braver. Many plants were 10 to 12 feet tall]

Another Big Pot Bust, This Time in California
September 13, 2006 - 9:30AM
A major marijuana bust outside of Yreka leaves authorities searching for suspects.

4 pot gardens were busted on Tuesday in Horse Creek. A total of 30,000 to 50,000 plants were found that may be worth up to $250 million.

SWAT teams from Jackson and Siskiyou Counties secured the area as crews began removal of the plants.

Siskiyou County Sheriff Rick Riggins said SWAT teams chased several people who were near the gardens on Tuesday, but no word yet on any arrests.

Invasion - The Mexican border has moved 800 miles north

Our national forests have been invaded by Mexican drug cartels, aided by MS-13 gangbangers and AWOL Mexican military growing massive marijuana farms. Last year we wrote an article, "Green cards and gangs" which was followed up by Michelle Malkin's article " Gangland".

The photos here were taken by Sheriff Rick Riggins in Siskiyou County, California during raids of these farms . He has graciously allowed us to present them.

This is some of the beautiful land and forests that are being destroyed by these foreign invaders. Helicopters had to be used to take out the crops and access the farms. The Sheriff told me they are already grouping to grow again this year, all over the Northwest.
Hundreds of trees are cut to build villages to live in while the cartels protect their investments.
This perp ran , fell and hurt himself. The sheriffs had to go in and take him out with a helicopter for medical treatment. As if paying to house them in jail isn't enough.
A notebook left by one of the "growers". It shows gang symbols as well as records for money "earned".
This is just one of the guns found at a raided camp.
Take note of the "shrine" on the right to the Virgin of Guadalupe. Just good Christians growing the dope that would put a citizen in jail for a long time. Think what the environmentalists and the law would do to you, if you did this to our forests!

Please note the huge holes dug to plant. The land is scraped of any natural vegetation. Water is piped in from the natural watershed. Chemicals are spread over hundreds of acres. The trees are skinned with only a canopy left for cover. Remember, US citizens aren't allowed to touch anything in our National Forests.

The "kitchen". Notice the candles beneath in all the garbage.
Here is one of the many huge pits dug to conceal crops, garbage, etc. ,big enough for an SUV.
The 'crop', from a raid last summer. These farms cover hundreds of acres with tens of thousands plants.

More from Lou Dobbs 9/15/06

Mexican drug rings using U.S. national forests to grow marijuana. We'll have that special report, and a great deal more, straight ahead.

DOBBS: Tonight this nation's national forests are being overrun by Mexican drug cartels and their marijuana-growing operations. We reported earlier this week on a massive marijuana bust in a national forest in Northern California, 800 miles from the Mexican border. Officials are almost certain that Mexican drug gangs are behind this operation, and many more around the country.

CASEY WIAN, CNN CORRESPONDENT : We accompanied law enforcement agents on a massive bust of a marijuana-growing operation in Northern California this week.

In two days, sheriff's deputies, the FBI, and others, seized 25,000 marijuana plants, weighing more than six tons with a street value of $125 million. They also seized evidence linking the operation to Mexican drug traffickers, but the growers got away.

SHERIFF RICK RIGGINS, SISKIYOU COUNTY, CALIF.: These guys work up there seven days a week, they live up there. And so these guys are in very good shape. They have their exits all planned.

WIAN: But there may be a break in the case. The Siskiyou County sheriff's department says it has seven illegal aliens in custody. They were discovered by local residents just a few miles from the pot farms. So far this year California's justice department has eradicated 1.2 million marijuana plants, worth nearly $5 billion, mostly on public land such as national forests.

SCOTT MCGREGOR, U.S. ATTORNEY, EAST CA. DISTRICT: Literally without exception, in terms of these very large groves, on the federal public lands over the last three years, every one of them -- in terms of the suspects that we've caught and the evidence that has led us to who we believe the perpetrators were involved, Mexican nationals.

WIAN: In California, the number of plants seized in marijuana gardens has doubled in just two years. Mexican methamphetamine traffickers are using proceeds in that business to diversify in marijuana. Among the consequences of the pot farms, devastating environmental damage from deforestation, trash and irrigation systems.

MCGREGOR: They also will throw chemicals in these and bags of fertilizer, which will leach into the water system.

JOHN GAINES, CALIF. BUREAU OF NARC ENFORCEMENT: These are all damage to our natural resources that our citizens, you know, shouldn't have to put up from the occupying force of foreigners, that are coming in here and taking over our land.

WIAN: As the marijuana gardens grow in size and the law enforcement efforts intensify, agents say traffickers are becoming more violent, and are a significant threat to recreational users of our national parks and forests. Now the FBI is still looking for hard evidence that the seven illegal aliens in custody in Siskiyou County are directly related to those marijuana-growing operations. If they can't find the evidence, the men will be deported, possibly within the next day or two.

If We Build It They Won't Come ! MUST READ!

Rep. Duncan Hunter
If We Build It They Won't Come !
Human Events.com article 5/22/2007

by Rep. Duncan Hunter
Mr. Hunter represents the 52nd District of California. He is a candidate for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination. His website is: http://www.gohunter08.com/index.asp.

It’s much tougher than it should be to secure America’s borders. While the technology and manpower are all within reach, what seems beyond our grasp is the ability to act. Take last year’s legislation calling for construction of 854 miles of fence on our Southern border.

It’s all too obvious that America is under threat because its land borders are largely porous and unprotected. In response last year Congress passed, and the President signed into law, legislation calling for the construction of those 854 miles of border fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border. Despite this legislative mandate by the U.S. Congress, the Department of Homeland Security recently announced its intention to build only 370 miles of fencing along the border, not the 854 miles required by the legislation.

This directive, despite its clarity, appears to have been interpreted as a suggestion. It is not: it’s the law -- and the border fence must be built.

The Secure Fence Act requires that reinforced fencing and related infrastructure be installed along the most dangerous and problematic smuggling corridors along our Southern land border, which continue providing illegal immigrants, drug smugglers and potential terrorist access into the United States. As the original author of the measure’s fencing provision, I expected there to be some opposition to implementing strategic fencing along our land border with Mexico. I did not, however, expect one of the biggest obstacles to be the federal agency primarily responsible for protecting the American homeland, especially when border fencing has proven to be an effective enforcement tool with verifiable results.

In San Diego County, for example, border fencing remains a critical part of our continuing effort to address the problems commonly associated with illegal immigration. Since construction of the San Diego Border Fence began in 1996, the smuggling of people and narcotics has dropped drastically, crime rates have been reduced by half according to FBI statistics, vehicle drug drive-throughs have been eliminated and apprehensions have decreased as the result of fewer crossing attempts.

The Clinton Administration opposed the construction of the San Diego Border Fence as a method of closing the prolific smuggling corridor that once existed between San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico. The Clinton Administration, however, also recognized its responsibility under the law. Construction of the San Diego Border Fence began and conditions on both sides of the border immediately improved.

The Bush Administration says it remains committed to securing the border. I intend to hold them to their word. Just as I did with the Clinton Administration, I will continue reminding the Bush Administration of their obligation under the law to build the border fence. I believe they can, and will, do better.

Bureaucracy is rarely ever capable of producing immediate results. But when it threatens the safety and security of our communities, it becomes intolerable. The decision not to build fencing as dictated by law can only serve to demonstrate that we are not serious about securing our borders and enforcing our nation’s immigration laws.

Why is reinforced border infrastructure necessary? In 2005, 155,000 foreign nationals from countries other than Mexico were apprehended attempting to cross our land border with Mexico. Alarmingly, many of these individuals originated from countries of national security concern, including Syria, Iran, Lebanon and Yemen, and likely represent only a fraction of those who successfully entered our country without the knowledge of border security officials or the consent of our government.

It has also been reported that several of the individuals who were discovered to be plotting the next major terrorist attack against the United States, targeting soldiers at Fort Dix, crossed the U.S.-Mexico border through Brownsville, Texas. Whether they entered as children or adults, the fact that they originated from countries far from our shores demonstrates that across the world, it is understood that the best way to illegally enter the United States is through our land border with Mexico.

To date, only 12 miles of the 854 miles of border fencing called for in the Secure Fence Act have been constructed. While it’s a start, the 370 miles of fencing promised by DHS represents a significant departure from what’s required by federal law. Let’s be perfectly clear: it’s not enough. Even the 854 miles of fence legislated last year is only a beginning. Legislation presently under consideration by the U.S. Senate to reform our immigration system also reaffirms DHS’ decision to only build 370 miles of fencing. This legislation is weak on enforcement, comprehensively fails to make border security a priority and wrongly retreats from the mandates of the Secure Fence Act.

We know from our experiences in San Diego that border fencing works and when extended across Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, it will have the same salutary affect. DHS has more than $1 billion cash on hand for border fence construction and more will surely be delivered. It’s time we get serious about border control, do what’s right, and build the border fence. Secure borders make America safer. What’s so hard to understand about that?

NOTE: Hunter was on Larry King fighting the open border lobby last night for YOU!

[snips] In Spartansburg, South Carolina is Congressman Duncan Hunter, candidate for the GOP presidential nomination.

KING: Congressman Hunter, what do you think?

REP. DUNCAN HUNTER (R), CALIFORNIA, PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE, OPPOSES BILL: Well, I think, Larry, that this -- this Senate bill cuts down the border fence, cuts it in half. That's the fence that I legislated through last October. And since 9/11, enforcement on the border is now primarily a national security issue.

Americans have to know two things -- who's coming into the country and what are they bringing with them.

And by cutting this thing down to 370 miles -- which is what the Senate bill does, you leave the smugglers routes of New Mexico and Texas totally exposed. That means you're going to have continued people moving people and narcotics through those smugglers' routes. That's going to be bad for this country.

So let's -- let's follow up on the law that's already been passed, that was signed by the president in October, and that is to build -- extend the San Diego border fence -- which, incidentally, saved lots of lives -- saved the lives of the people who were being preyed on by the border gangs in San Diego. We cut the crime rate by 50 percent by building that fence.

This bill that extends it 854 miles across Arizona, New Mexico and Texas needs to be implemented.

KING: Congressman Hunter, isn't forgiveness one of the concepts of America?

You're not going to -- you're not going to deport 12 million people, are you?

HUNTER: Well, let me tell you, Larry, the other concept is security...

HUNTER: ... and there is absolutely nothing that has been -- has been laid down by the people that support this idea of amnesty. And it is an amnesty because the only thing people care about is can I stay?

And they can stay the instant they walk in and sign up. That nobody has been able to explain to me the difference between now and 1986, when we gave amnesty and we wrote in the fine print, now this is it, nobody else is allowed to come in illegally. People didn't even slow down. In fact, they rushed the borders. That's why there's 12 million people here now.

Now, if we pass this, why won't there be another 12 million people coming in to catch what they consider to be the third amnesty?

The answer is there won't be any difference because they will think that we've devalued our own laws by basically giving a second amnesty.

So this is an amnesty and it's going to bring on what I think will be a real stampede for America's borders for the third amnesty.

HUNTER: You know, I'm reminded that this is a security issue. It's a security issue because we have to know who it is coming in. It's been pointed out that there's 250,000 criminal aliens. That is people who came across the border to hurt Americans and presently in our federal, state and local penitentiaries and jails.

Unless you have sides on the house, it doesn't make any difference how you adjust the front door, if you don't know who's coming through those sides on the house. And the same -- the same smugglers who will take $10,000 to smuggle cocaine across the border or smuggle people who are coming in illegally across the border, someday will take $10,000 to smuggle terrorists across the border.

That's why you have to have a secure border. That's why we need sides on the house. And if people want to come in, they're going to have to knock on the front door, Larry. It's going to have to be that way since 9/11.

HUNTER: ... in 2005, a hundred and -- in 2005, 155,000 people came across the border from Mexico who were not citizens of Mexico. They came from virtually every country in the world.

Unless you have an enforceable border, you will have no way of telling who's coming across this 2,000 -- this vast 2,000 mile border between the United States and Mexico. Everybody in the world watches their television sets...

KING: The fault is with ourselves as some will say.

Congressman Hunter, you want to respond to Enrique's charge that you're responsible for some of the deaths?

HUNTER: Yes. Larry, first, there's one guy who's put out 10 times as much water as Mr. Morones has for people who have been dying in the desert. That's my brother, John Hunter, who does it every day every week and has done it for years, doesn't seek publicity like Mr. Morones, but he's put out a lot more water.

And secondly, when we built the border fence, you had armed gangs that robbed, raped and murdered illegal aliens so badly that Joseph Wambaugh wrote his best-selling book about the area between San Diego and Tijuana, that no man's land that they called Lines and Shadows. Those were gangs with automatic weapons. They average 10 murders a year on the border.

When I built the double border fence along the border between Tijuana and San Diego, we took those gangs out; we took the murders down from 10 a year to zero. I never got a thank you from Mr. Morones.

HUNTER: And Larry, let me finish my position on that. If the government would build the fence that I put into the law across Arizona and put interlocking cameras up, I timed that so they would be up before the next hot season so those 200 people would not die in the Arizona desert this year. This administration has failed to do that. The deadline was May 31, which is just a couple of weeks!

HUNTER: If you had 200 young high school students dying because they were getting into a canal and drowning, the first thing you'd do is fence the canal. If we fence the Arizona desert with a double fence and we have those interlocking cameras, you keep the coyotes from pushing those innocent people out across the line, telling them that the road is only two miles to the north. In some cases, it's 20 miles to the north. And in July heat, 110 degree heat, at 10:00 in the morning, they start to fall off.

HUNTER: Well, first, to the first point that was made by that call, Larry, I actually held a hearing on the Canadian border in Michigan last August with the Armed Services Committee and we asked our agencies what they needed in terms of increased law enforcement. They said it's not like it is on the Mexican border right now but if we have an enforcement on the Mexican border with the fence, we may well need better arrangements, including barriers, on the Canadian border if we have to in this post 9/11 world, then we have to do it. So the point is you have to have security.

And nobody here has explained how you separate, when criminals are coming in along with the good people and people coming in from virtually every country in the world, how you tell who's coming in and what they're bringing in with them unless you have a real border.

KING: What if you let no one in and then you're secure but you're alone?

HUNTER: Well, that's right, Larry. What that means is that you've got to come in through the front door. You've got to knock on the front door. You've got to give your credentials. That gives our law enforcement agencies an ability to analyze who's coming into the country. And every country post 9/11 has that right.

HUNTER: I think it tells me that they don't understand that border enforcement right now, this vast 2,000 mile border that's unsecured, is probably our most pressing problem with respect to homeland security. I think securing the border is more important than a thousand new shiny fire trucks for New York City or a new communication system for our police.

This is important because this is where people -- you know the 155,000 people that came from all countries in the world, Larry, to transit across Mexico, those people came because they know that that is the opening. You can't come through the airports anymore. You come across a land border between Mexico and the U.S. At some point, we're going to have people come across. They're going to put $10,000 in the hands of that smuggler who was moving cocaine and those people are going to be terrorists. This is a national security problem. You have to know who's coming into this country and you can't do that unless you have a secure border.

HUNTER: Well, I just say this: when the swift plants were raided in Iowa a couple of months ago, and I was up there, Larry, and about 800 folks were taken out working there illegally, the next day, I'm told, lots of native Iowans showed up to get their jobs back. So there are lots of jobs in this country, in fact, that have been taken by folks who are here illegally. I think that's very clear. I think the absolute statement that they're taking only jobs Americans don't want is not accurate. It's been proven.

Mexico, illegal aliens - TERRORISM, time to call it what it is

aztlan.jpg

PAST the time to call it what it is.

Definition of Terrorism under U.S. Law

The term “terrorism” means premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents;

5) the terms “terrorist sanctuary” and “sanctuary” mean an area in the territory of the country—
(A) that is used by a terrorist or terrorist organization—
(i) to carry out terrorist activities, including training, fundraising, financing, and recruitment; or
(ii) as a transit point; and
(B) the government of which expressly consents to, or with knowledge, allows, tolerates, or disregards such use of its territory

The shooting of a Deputy Sheriff in Arizona yesterday was an act of Terrorism.

[snip] A massive hunt of 100 square miles that included helicopters with night-vision equipment and more than 200 officers, including SWAT teams, from 13 agencies was still pursuing the shooters late Friday.

More than one helicopter came under fire during the evening as officers rescued Deputy Louie Puroll, who had been shot with an AK-47-type weapon around 4 p.m., according to the Sheriff’s Office.

“Here we see the tactics have changed and become more dangerous,” Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu said. “This has reached a critical mass for law enforcement.”

The citizens of Arizona and other border states have suffered for years with this invasion while being ignored by John McCain, George Bush and the other members of the Squatter Support Squad of the GOP and virtually the entire democrat party. BUT, the problem is ALL over this nation.

Armed, trained Mexican Cartels are growing tons of dope here, on our public lands.

Last summer, rural residents of Siskiyou County, California.....800 miles from the border, heard groups of ‘spanish speaking’ people walking up and down the roads in the middle of the night, patrolling. The various cartels are here fighting each other over LAND...our national forests, to grow their weed. We are told not to go into the forests for our own safety.

One fire in California last summer, LaBrea, was set by these cartels, consumed 88,000 acres.

Fire Investigators Determine Cause of La Brea Fire

It’s here, all over the country.

Story here, with photos of their camps, The Mexican border has moved 800 miles north-

.....some of their plantations are not more than 10 miles from where we live. Some of the aliens have been found with USA issued ‘agriculture’ green cards.

As we look to this day of protests by the left, please take a look at an EXCELLENT photo essay by Michelle Malikin from prior amnesty protests.

Welcome to Reconquista By Michelle Malkin • March 27, 2006

[snip]the Los Angeles Times (and all other major media, for that matter) have downplayed the radical ethnic separatism that characterized the pro-illegal immigration rallies over the weekend. While the Times misleadingly asserted that the Los Angeles rally “featured more American flags than those from any other country,” its reporters conveniently ignored marchers with extremist signs and banners advocating America-undermining concepts of reconquista and Aztlan. Tammy Bruce noted on FOX News this morning that American flags were burned at the LA rally and marchers also held signs of the North American continent with America x’ed out.

Now, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, instead of defending California is condemning Arizona.

CALIFORNIA!!! WAKE UP!!! Send a fax free to Arnold and tell him to defend his CITIZENS!

ANOTHER THING........Just a reminder of where violence and protests have been in the past...and it sure wasn't the TEA PARTY.

Reminds me of one of McCain’s excuses for Amnesty
( err..’legalization’, according to him)
This may be the ONLY time John McCain told the truth.

John McCain: no amnesty for illegal aliens could lead to France-style riots

...The man wasn’t satisfied with McCain’s answer. He asked McCain why the U.S. couldn’t execute large-scale deportations, as he had heard they did in France and other countries. The question seemed to pique McCain.

“In case you hadn’t noticed, the thousands of people who have been relegated to ghettos have risen up and burned cars in France,” McCain said. “They’ve got huge problems in France. They have tremendous problems. The police can’t even go into certain areas in the suburbs of Paris. I don’t want that in the suburbs of America.”

Here is the infamous incident outside of Montebello High School, where the illegals and their supported raised the Mexican flag above the inverted American flag.

The War Next Door is here....800 miles from the Mexican Border

__________________

Headline: Record marijuana grow pulled up by the roots in Siskiyou County

full version video: http://www.ktvl.com/video/?videoId=34835560001&play=nowLink

What is truly interesting about this story is that the local CBS TV affiliate, KTVL Channel 10 finally ‘gets it’. They actually did some reporting on these pot farms being run on public lands by organized Mexican Drug Cartels after years of many of us pleading with them to inform the public of this danger. What is frightening, is how real that danger has become.

This marijuana grow stretched 2 miles. For years, our local sheriffs have fought these incursions, only to watch them grow more widespread. Siskiyou county is a conservative, quiet sparsely populated huge land mass. Along peaceful country roads that have been settled by old families, independent, self reliant types, late in the night citizens now hear voices in Spanish conversing as they walk up and down ‘patrolling’.

We knew the cartels were armed, that they contained the worst elements of Mexican organized crime; the Zeta’s, various cartels, MS-13, awol military. What we didn’t know, is now that their enterprise of growing on millions of acres of USA land became so successful , is that now the cartels are at war with each other over ‘territory’ and contraband crops. One group may go in and cultivate the crop, only to have it taken with force by a better armed gang.

We have been warned for years in the counties of No.California and So. Oregon to stay clear of the ‘woods’, to never approach anything that looked like a pot farm.
Now we are being warned of the war between the cartels taking place on our peaceful country lanes. It is easier for the cartels to recruit laborers, with less risk to grow on these ‘protected sanctuaries’ than it is in Mexico. Where shall we go to escape?

Last week these cartels burned 860,000 acres in California. Will we become ‘collateral’ damage to their fires or their bullets? Unlike Mexico, in what has become an every day occurrence , we’ve had no beheadings...yet.

Our Department of Homeland security is spending billions in Mexico to help them fight these cartels there, to keep any of our guns from entering Mexico. But they say they don’t have the money to stop these invading armies from crossing the border and infiltrating our property. This congress refuses to fund a fence, but they’ll fund our people to go to Mexico and tell you this entire problem is the fault of the USA because some of our guns go to Mexico. When their criminal cast-offs are stopped from coming in, our guns will stop going out since the same people are working both sides of the border.

Another headline that just bolsters this situation today:

Mexican drug cartels now recruiting hit men from U.S. military
Examiner/Mike Cutler ^ | Aug. 20, 2009 | Norfolk Crime Examiner Dave Gibson

Pfc. Michael Jackson Apodaca, 18 who was arrested Monday, is accused of working as a paid hit man, and assassinating a member of the Juarez Cartel who had become an informant for U.S. authorities.

Along with Apodaca, El Paso police have charged Ruben Rodriguez Dorado, 30, and Christopher Andrew Duran, 17 with capital murder.

The informant, Jose Daniel Gonzalez Galeana, was shot several times at his home on May 15.

Both Dorado and Duran told detectives that Apodaca was the one paid to carry out the execution. Witness accounts along with the police investigation have confirmed this.

Pfc. Apodaca enlisted in the Army in September 2008. He is stationed with the 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade at Fort Bliss.

While this is the first known instance of a U.S. soldier working as an assassin for the drug cartels, this may simply be a consequence of the evolving threat posed to this country by the cartels, as well as a result of the criminal gang activity which now exists in the U.S. military.

In April 2009, the FBI released a statement on the growing problem of gangs in the military, and the threat they now pose to U.S. police officers. What follows is an excerpt from that statement:

“Gang members with military training pose a unique threat to law enforcement personnel because of the distinctive military skills that they possess and their willingness to teach these skills to fellow gang members. While the number of gang members trained by the military is unknown, the threat that they pose to law enforcement is potentially significant, particularly if gang members trained in weapons, tactics, and planning pass this instruction on to other gang members.”

The National Gang Assessment Center has identified the following Latino street and prison gangs as having gang members who were trained in the U.S. military:

-18th Street Gang

-Florencia 13

-Latin Kings

-Mexican Mafia (La Eme)

-MS 13

-Norteños

-Sureños

The military does not currently keep data on gang activity within their ranks. However, FBI gang investigator Jennifer Simon said in a recent article: "Gang membership in the U.S. Armed Forces is disproportional to the U.S. population.”

The prevailing estimate among most experts is that out of every 100 people who enter the military, at least two are gang members.

One of the reasons for the increasing number of gang members joining the military, is the fact that the lowering of recruiting standards, mainly by the Army. Of course, this is due to the two wars dragging on in Afghanistan and Iraq.

According to the Michael D. Palm Center at the University of California, between 2003 and 2006, recruiters allowed 4,230 convicted criminals into the Army.

A note from Mike Cutler, former INS agent, who sent out this article:

"Today, with some 230 American cities being identified as being infested by the extremely violent Mexican drug cartels with additional cities also being infested by other similarly violent gangs, the potential for extreme violence being perpetrated against our citizens and our law enforcement officials is obviously a serious threat and must be dealt with swiftly and decisively by our federal government.

It is now estimated that there are, already, more gang members in our country than sworn police officers.

The discussions about the creation of a massive amnesty program for millions of illegal aliens as we are hearing at the present is nothing short of alarming! I you add the number of alien gang members with the number of United States citizens who have been and continue to be recruited into gangs now, the numbers are truly staggering!

It is a virtual certainty that such an amnesty would provide gang members with even more opportunities to enlist in our military to receive the training that would enable them to do to the United States what Los Zetas is now doing to Mexico.

You might say that the "handwriting is on the wall" and in this case the handwriting is the gang graffiti that is used to mark off territory by gangs seeking to control their turf..

Furthermore, it is unconscionable that this issue, of gang violence, is never addressed by so-called "pro-immigrant" organizations. These folks know damned well that these threats are often used by the various ethnic gangs and that this is not limited to just Latino gangs but is used by every gang from every foreign country and ethnicity.

The outrage is that often lawful immigrants who arrive in our country expecting to live a life free of the violence and threats of violence that terrified them in their home countries quickly find that the same thugs who made their lives miserable back home have managed to come to the United States and continue to prey upon them and their families both in the United States and in their home countries as well.

This is certainly not the "American Dream" but does represent one hell of a nightmare!
It is now estimated that there are, already, more gang members in our country than sworn police officers.

The large scale apathy demonstrated by citizens of this nation has emboldened elected representatives to all but ignore the needs of the average American citizen in a quest for massive campaign funds and the promises of votes to be ostensibly delivered by special interest groups. There is much that we cannot do but there is one thing that We the People absolutely must do- we must stop sitting on the sidelines!

The collective failure of We the People to get involved in make our concerns known to our politicians have nearly made the concerns of the great majority of the citizens of this nation all but irrelevant to the politicians.

I implore you to get involved!”

The fires that hit a protected forest area in mountains close to the north-western California city of Santa Barbara could have been started by Mexican drug traffickers, officials say.

"The reality is that we could have an army out there and not be able to cover all of that ground," Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown told reporters, saying he based his claim on the size of a marijuana farm and equipment found where the fire began.

His statement confirmed claims made over the weekend by officials at Los Padres National Forest.

Some 30,000 marijuana plants, some as high as six feet (1.83 metres), were found in a remote forest area officials say was likely being used as an illegal pot garden by a Mexico-based drug operation.

A special team of US Forest Service, a counternarcotics police unit and investigators from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department uncovered stacks of propane tanks, irrigation tubing, empty fertilizer canisters, a cooking stove and a semi-automatic rifle, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The major Los Padres fire has been burning since August 8, destroying over 88,650 acres (35,875 hectares) but is now 75 per cent under control, Calfire said.

Local counternarcotics units had travelled through the same area several months ago and were surprised by the new find.

So far this year, US Forest Service and Santa Barbara County counternarcotics agents have uprooted a record 225,058 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $US675 million ($816 million) dollars.

In July, agents pulled 113,000 plants at a camp not far from the site where the fire broke out.

Santa Barbara is about 350 kilometres from the US border with Mexico between San Diego and Tijuana, one of the most patrolled points along the nearly 3000-kilometre long divide between the two North American countries.

Getting to know you!!! MS-13 recruits on the way to YOUR city!

Last evening on one of the alphabet stations they profiled a recent Central American 'youth' arrival to the USA. He and the reporter lamented that back in his country, he was prompted to be in gangs, threatened even!  HOW SAD!  It is a poor excuse to come here to escape it!

We have American cities being run by the Central American gangs, particularly MS-13.  And American kids being threatened and killed by those same gangs.  This is a must read, from 2006 and it's going to get worse, much worse!

Witness Tells Court About Gang Rape in MS-13 Trial

[snip]MS-13 members live by the motto "We kill, we rape, we control," a federal prosecutor said in her opening statement Tuesday.
Federal prosecutors say that MS-13 committed six homicides and four attempted homicides between April 2003 and June 2005 in suburban Maryland. Eight attacks were in Prince George's, two in Montgomery.[snip]

A related ICE operation in Chicago targeted violent Hispanic gangs. Over the past five years, ICE agents on Chicago’s Violent Gang Task Force have arrested more than 375 known alien gang members.
As I've been reporting in previous columns and on the blog, the most notorious criminal alien gang on the scene is Mara Salvatrucha/MS-13. They're on the border, in the suburbs, and now...in our national forests. Earlier this week, I spoke with Siskiyou County, Calif., sheriff Rick Riggins, who has uncovered massive marijuana farms in our federal forests . Riggins reports that the Mexican Mafia and MS-13 paraphernalia have been discovered on the scene.
My conclusion: The solution lies with increased federal-local cooperation, aggressive deportation, and uncompromising immigration enforcement, not with piddly anti-gang/"conflict resolution" grants doled out by the First Lady.  http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3178176/posts[snip]

Go for the short list...WHO HAS NOT sold out!???

The news first thing this morning is that our filibustering hero, Rand Paul, has sold out to the foreign interest lobby ( or he's dumber than a rock) and is pushing amnesty.  He will announce, in front of a hispanic audience today, that he's just another open border Rino.  And a naive one at that.
"  Paul also will take on many of the talking points used by conservative opponents of comprehensive reform. For instance, Paul will outright dismiss claims that undocumented immigrants have become a drain on the nation's welfare system, saying "I've never met a new immigrant looking for a free lunch."
Well, Mr. Paul, you haven't met most of them, because MOST of them get social welfare!

Other news today tells us about the GOP rising star and token hispanic,  Marco Rubio,  has co sponsored a bill to build a 'Latino Museum' at the Smithstonian.   It appears blood IS thicker than patriotism.

"Menendez’s bill was backed by Democratic leader Sen. Harry Reid, Rep. Xavier Becerra, the chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, and Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio.
So, just WHO of our esteemed 'leaders' is on the US citizen/sovereignty side?

 Sen. Jeff Sessions, for one.
“Union and non-union workers alike, as well as all Americans, should be concerned about the immigration agenda of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. As in the last debate on comprehensive reform, the Chamber’s primary goal has never been to establish a lawful immigration system and secure our borders, but to get as much cheap labor as possible, regardless of how it impacts American workers, legal immigrants, and taxpayers in general.

The ‘shared principles’ announced today are internally inconsistent and even contradictory. In addition to the Gang of Eight’s plan to make millions of workers immediately available to compete for any job—which the Chamber supports—the ‘shared principles’ of the Chamber and AFL-CIO would add a permanent ‘worker visa’ program. Surely the Chamber hasn’t abandoned belief in the power of the market; such a visa program is certain to take jobs from American workers and depress wages."
In the house of reps, we have a few.  Duncan Hunter, Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), Frank Kratovil (D-MD), Glenn Nye (D-VA) and 18 other House members who introducedThe BRIDGE Resolution states that Congress:
  • Make E-Verify mandatory for all employers and hold employees accountable as well;
  • Provide sufficient border infrastructure and manpower to secure and control our borders;
  • Reject amnesty or any legal status that grants citizenship to those living in the U.S. in violation of current law.
  •
  •
CPAC closed its doors for this year, leaving a disgusting taste in our collective conservative mouths.
US News put it this way:  CPAC Reveals GOP Not on Same Immigration Page

"NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. — Spanish-speaking wait staff hustled around the Conservative Political Action Conference ballroom Thursday evening, laying out cups and silverware with such precision and speed the room echoed with the sound of clinking wine glasses, rolling food carts and pounding plates.
It's a scene that's very personal to GOP leaders like Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., whose own father was a bartender who served drinks at parties like the ones his son headlines now. But at CPAC, many Republicans still seemed resistant to Rubio's immigration reform framework he unveiled with a bipartisan group of senators this year."

You betcha!!!  Illegal aliens working at CPAC...'in the shadows'!  What a load!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Examiner reports 2 illegal aliens Jose Alberto Hernandez-Hernandez, 35, and Jose Idel Sid, 35, escaped from their cell at the Guilford County Jail in High Point.  They were in jail for raping children, but Sheriff Barnes said the fugitives do not pose a threat to the public. What??  RIGHT!!!!
Yeah, Rand Paul..these guys will make fine US citizens!

Reportedly assaulted four children " two days running."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HERE is the REAL Tea Party in action yesterday in Glendale, Calif, led by Jesse Lee Peterson.  I believe one of the biggest media lies is that 95% of Black Americans support Obama or his agenda.

Some things never change...This could have been my Dad in 1932 screaming about the coming socialism...and he screamed at FDR until he died in 1963. And he was right!

*Poll  (Taken in Mexico) : Mexicans say Mexican-Americans Owe Loyalty to Mexico Over U.S.
Thu Oct 15 11:51:17 2009 ·

(CNSNews.com) - Nearly 70 percent of Mexicans surveyed said that Mexican-Americans – including those born in the United States – owe their primary loyalty to Mexico, not the U.S.

REMEMBER!! These new amnestied ''Americans" will have dual citizenship!
 ---------------------------------------------------------------------
And another thing....We just found out that California, since it is in SUCH GOOD financial shape...NOT!....is going to offer illegal aliens FREE healthcare!

A new ad campaign has been launched to extend medical coverage to illegal aliens in the state of California.  The California Endowment, a private foundation that advocates for affordable healthcare, wants county-run Medicaid expansion programs called Low-Income Health Programs to be "retooled" to provide insurance for this population - well over 1 million people!
First they cut tuition assistance for citizen students by $1.2 billion.
Then they made illegal aliens eligible for in-state tuition and financial aid, with AB131 - signed by Gov. Jerry Brown.
Then tuition assistance was cut for members of the military by sequestration - affected tens of thousands of whom live in California.
Calif also recently started charging $150 per home per year in ‘rural areas’ for fire fighting. Rural ‘areas’ also include small towns..YES, the entire town!....that aren’t even anywhere near forests.
---------------------------------

Recently Oregon...YES, Oregon, 800 miles from the border,  was named one of four sanctuary states...
“Oregon is one of four official sanctuary states. Despite the documented presence of more than 50 Hispanic, Asian, and Eurasian gangs (most of which migrated there from southern California) involved in everything from drugs to sex trafficking to homicide”

Pot farms ravaging park land
Big raid in Marin County hints at the extent of damaging techniques by growers

Chuck Squatriglia, Chronicle Staff Writer

Wednesday, September 6, 2006

The discovery of 22,740 marijuana plants growing in and around Point Reyes National Seashore last week wasn't only the biggest pot seizure ever made in Marin County. It was an environmental mess that will take several months and tens of thousands of dollars to clean up.

The crops seized on the steep hillsides overlooking Highway 1 were planted by sophisticated growers who cleared vegetation, terraced land, drew water from streams through miles of irrigation hoses and doused acres of land with hundreds of pounds of fertilizer and pesticides.

Such operations are turning up in greater numbers within state and national parks throughout California. Federal officials estimate the state produces half of all the marijuana seized on public lands nationwide.

Officials at Point Reyes National Seashore have only begun to assess the resulting damage to an area that is habitat for the spotted owl, steelhead trout and coho salmon, and they said it could be months before they know the long-term implications for the ecosystem.

"We've seen some really nasty damage," National Park Service spokesman John Dell'Osso said Tuesday. "And there's a very good possibility there are sites we haven't even found yet."

Cultivating marijuana on land managed by the Park Service, the National Forest Service and other agencies is a multibillion-dollar industry. So far this year, authorities have found more than 940,000 marijuana plants growing on state and federal land in the Golden State. With the harvest season beginning, officials expect to find more pot farms and surpass last year's haul of 1.1 million plants.

Federal officials believe as much as 80 percent of the marijuana on public land is grown by Mexican drug cartels that have turned to places like Point Reyes National Seashore, Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Park and Whiskeytown National Recreation Area in this era of tightened border security; growing the drug here is far easier than smuggling it in. The plants found in Point Reyes last week were valued at around $50 million, Dell'Osso said.

The federal Office of National Drug Control policy estimates that growing 1 acre of marijuana damages 10 acres of land. Repairing that land is a costly, time-consuming process, and because the National Park Service does not allocate money specifically for the task, the funds come from each park's operating budget -- leaving less money for things like park programs and improvements.

"We have no budget for this," Dell'Osso said, noting that it is a problem "the powers-that-be need to start discussing."

The pot seized last week was growing on six sites scattered along Bolinas Ridge between Stinson Beach and the Randall Trail just south of Olema. About half of it was on land managed by the Marin Municipal Water District. Marin County sheriff's deputies discovered it during a routine aerial search. Investigators have not made any arrests.

Lt. Scott Anderson of the Marin County Sheriff's Department said the pot farm's similarities to those found in other national parks suggests it was the work of a Mexican cartel that probably employed undocumented immigrants.

The sites in Marin County are tucked away in remote canyons, sheltered beneath madrone and oak trees and surrounded by thick brush hacked away haphazardly. Trees have been stripped of their limbs to make room for the plants, leaving only a canopy of branches to hide the illicit crop.

Irrigation hoses as long as a mile each drew water from pools dug into the ground and fed by the springs and streams that course through the Tomales Bay watershed. The steep hillsides have been terraced, much like a vineyard, and are dotted with hundreds of deep holes that held as many as four marijuana plants apiece. The land is littered with empty 50-pound bags of fertilizer and gallon jugs of pesticide.

Investigators believe as many as three people tended each plot, and the amount of trash -- empty soda and beer cans, food wrappers, propane canisters and clothing -- suggests they'd been living there for at least several weeks but fled before officials reached the site. Authorities found animal traps, pellet guns and a rabbit hutch, leading them to believe the growers hunted for food.

With the last of the crops cleared away, park officials have begun assessing the damage. Once the trash is removed, the biggest priority will be protecting the land with straw and new ground cover to prevent the winter rains from washing it away. Beyond that, though, it's not yet known exactly what must be done to restore the land and what it will cost.

Sequoia-King's Canyon National Park has spent more than $72,000 during the past two years to clean up 81 cultivation sites that covered 10 acres, said Athena Demetry, a restoration ecologist at the park. Authorities have seized more than 100,000 marijuana plants within Sequoia-King's Canyon since 2004. The latest seizure came Aug. 9, when authorities found 2,152 marijuana plants growing within view of Moro Rock, a popular park destination.

Over the course of six weeks during the winter of 2005 and 2006, park rangers hauled almost 5 tons of trash and debris out of the park, removed 13 miles of irrigation hose, and repaired deep cuts and terraces made to 35 hillsides, Demetry said. Empty bags and bottles revealed the growers used at least 8,031 pounds of fertilizer, 15 pounds of rodenticide and 7.6 gallons of pesticide. An additional 80 grow sites still must be repaired.

"We chose the sites that are easiest to reach and did those first," she said. "The ones that are left to do are more remote, and on steeper terrain."

Demetry said the land will recover quickly as new vegetation grows but the effect on wildlife will be harder to measure. No one knows how much fertilizer and pesticide is polluting the land, or how much of it made its way into the streams that feed the East Fork of Kaweah River.

"It's got a huge impact on the stream ecology," she said. "It has the potential to ripple through the food chain."

Park rangers have for years stumbled upon small stands of marijuana, but the problem has exploded within the past five years and reached a point where they're having difficulty keeping up, Demetry said. Although individual cultivation sites rarely cover more than an acre, the growers have taken to scattering them over hundreds of acres to evade detection. That, she said, spreads the destruction over a far broader area, with far graver results.

"When we first saw them, we thought they were pretty small," she said. "But then we realized how many there were, and it became staggering. And there's a lot more out there."

Where is PETA, The Sierra Club and the other enviroFRAUD groupies now?????

Hunter says immigration issue plays to his strength

Presidential hopeful sees issue as fuel to propel him above low single digits in polls

Republican presidential candidate Duncan Hunter speaks Tuesday at a campaign appearance in Greenville.
GEORGE GARDNER / Staff

By Dan Hoover

Duncan Hunter is running uphill as fast as he can.

For the 14-term California congressman and Republican presidential candidate who'll turn 59 on May 31, the clock is ticking.

Unless he makes a strong upward move in the polls soon, breaking out of the low single digits for example, he could be part of the first winnowing process in the current 10-man field.

Hunter, on the second day of a four-day swing through South Carolina, said Tuesday in Greenville that the immigration issue that exploded Friday with the announcement of a bipartisan compromise bill in the Senate, roiling GOP presidential politics, is made to order for him.

His campaign is a three-legged stool, standing on a strong national defense, secure borders and two-way trade.

"It's a boost for our campaign because it focuses attention on one of my strengths," Hunter said of the proposed legislation. "I'm getting good traction from this."

He has his bona fides as an immigration hawk, he says, noting that "I'm the only candidate that has built a border fence" and now this "grandly produced" Senate bill, approved by the White House, would vastly decrease the authorized 800-mile fence by more than half.

"They don't want to build the fence," Hunter said, adding that so far, only 11 miles have been completed, "and at that rate, it'll take 20 years to complete."

He's convinced that the fence, from the Pacific Ocean through Arizona and New Mexico, must be the first step in securing porous borders that terrorists have now discovered are far easier entry points than heavily policed airports.

Hunter won funding in 1997 for the first border fence, this one of 10 miles, from the ocean into the hills along the U.S.-Mexican border in his San Diego County district. That fence, he said, slowed illegal immigration and helped reduce crime in urban San Diego.

The Senate bill, put together by Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., presidential rival John McCain, R-Arizona, and McCain's South Carolina ally, Lindsey Graham, is amnesty legislation and is unworkable, Hunter said, because it would require heads of households to return to their native countries to begin a long and expensive process toward legal status and eventual citizenship.

"They're not going," he said.

"The idea of legislating our out-of-control borders is senseless," Hunter said.

Pointing to his background as an airborne trooper in Vietnam, four-year chairmanship of the House Armed Services Committee and 27-year record in promoting defense, Hunter said, "I can look the American people in the eye in times of crisis."

OREGON - Sanctuary State, home of Useful Idiot implants!

Oregon USED to be a great state.  It was safe, peaceful, beautiful.  Life made sense, the laws were enforced.  But now, it's home to and being run by every stripe and color of liberal/socialist fool that has crept in here, legally and illegally.

Now if your property is 'tagged' (GRAFITTI) you, the victim, have 10 days to clean it up or be fined...Yes, you read that right...the victim gets fined!

So what is the answer, other than ENFORCE THE LAW?  A bunch of do gooders without a clue of WHY this is even happening start a little 'clean up group'.  I  commended them for their efforts, but when they were given proof of WHY this is happening, they pulled the race card and insisted this is local white boys causing the trouble....They simply could not, WOULD not see the difference in LEGAL immigration and illegal squatters!  It is SO STRANGE to me how people of Latino descent will identify with and defend lawbreaking invaders.   It's stunning!  These folks have gone public, even stating where they live! They will soon learn that these gangs will retaliate and they are sitting ducks...and it won't matter one bit, if you are Mexican or from the moon!  GOOD Latino AMERICANS don't condone this criminality!  SHAME on you for being part of the problem that has led to the destruction of this once great state.

What do you think folks?  Ever hear of SUR 13, MS13....All those LATINO GANGS, mostly filled with illegal aliens and anchor babies! ?   This is what was once a peaceful town, with GOOD Mexican American CITIZENS who were loyal to the USA!

What do YOU think, folks??? THIS is a small sample of life 800 miles from the border!

And THIS!
Oregon's corrupt governor resigned only to be replaced by as bad or worse, unelected of course.
Now the democrat controlled legislature and the 'Bi sexual'  (WHY DOES IT MATTER!!)  new Governor have decided to make sure the illegal aliens getting Driver Licenses also get registered to vote!   Thanks for bringing to our attention that voter registration is now being done by the STATE , not the citizen, Rep. Sal Esquivel:

 "Sad day for Oregon !
Today we passed out the mandatory voter registration when you renew or apply for a drivers license These records will go to the Secretary of State and you as an individual can opt out which will take approx. 2 weeks.
Here is why I have a problem with this bill.
I am a veteran and have protected these rights we have in America. Example: The right of free speech, the right to assemble, the right to bear arms. etc. But by being in the military , I did not go into a combat zone so you would HAVE to be registered to vote and would have to opt out. I always protected your rights, but I also thought we were there to give you the freedom to choose if you wanted to vote or not to vote! This is the REAL freedom, CHOICE ! .
