Today, Ms. Dvorak posted a copy of the police blotter which provides a good deal of the information necessary to confirm her initial story’s claims.

Digger is calling it “LaredoGate” because of the decided non-interest of the MSM and the crafty non-denial denials from the local law enforcement.

THINGS WE KNOW FOR SURE ABOUT THE INCIDENT

1-That the incident took place in Webb County, TX outside the city of Laredo beginning on July 23, 2010.
2-That the location of the ranch(es) was on Minerales Annex Road, not Mines Road (Rt. 1472), as some had reported.
3-That officers from various law enforcement organizations responded or were notified.
4-That surveillance of the area was ongoing from July 24 until at least early AM July 26. This last point has not been confirmed yet by public police sources.
5-That members of the Los Zetas drug cartel were involved.
6-That law enforcement were not only aware of Los Zetas involvement, but knew which cars they were likely driving.
7-That law enforcement had not blocked off Mines Road and but were stationed on Minerales Annex Road.

7/25/2010 UPDATE: Report likely BOGUS! Multiple sources feel this was a 'planted' story...whoever 'planted' it, is the worst kind of fool!

A snip from ALIPAC: In the past, materials from Dan Amato were welcome at ALIPAC, but his materials are no longer allowed in our archives after we observed Digger writing and attempting to publicize false information on multiple occasions.

The current story he has circulated has not been confirmed using any of the standards or practices we would use, or any professional would use, to verify before releasing such claims.

Claiming that military grade forces have actually seized US territory is not a matter that should be treated lightly. The threat of that happening is very real and the intense and costly reaction to such an incident is nothing to take chances with. Dan Amato took a lot of chances and ran a story that was just a rumor.

Now we have reports from local law enforcement, local media, and citizens who live in the area Digger claims is under Los Zeta occupation and they all say there's nothing like that happening in the area.

While ALIPAC has documented, and fought against, many legitimate media blackouts on stories like these, we are not seeing the usual patterns that we have experienced before around this story. This coupled with the fact that Digger of Digger's Realm BLOG acted on complete hearsay from a lone second hand source might indicate that a media blackout is not the true problem.

We will advise everyone, if this story changes or actual verification or evidence surfaces.

In what could be deemed an act of war against the sovereign borders of the United States, Mexican drug cartels have seized control of at least two American ranches inside the U.S. territory near Laredo, Texas.

Two sources inside the Laredo Police Department confirmed the incident is unfolding and they would continue to coordinate with U.S. Border Patrol today. “We consider this an act of war,” said one police officer on the ground near the scene. There is a news blackout of this incident at this time and the sources inside Laredo PD spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Word broke late last night that Laredo police have requested help from the federal government regarding the incursion by the Los Zetas. It appears that the ranch owners have escaped without incident but their ranches remain in the hands of the blood thirsty cartels.

Laredo Border Patrol is conducting aerial surveillance over the ranches to determine the best way to regain control of the U.S. ranches, according to the Laredo Police department.

The approximate location of the U.S. ranches are10 miles northwest of I-35 off Mines Road and Minerales Annex Road. Just off 1472 (Mines road) near Santa Isabel Creek south of the city of Laredo, Texas.

The Los Zetas drug cartel is an offshoot of the elite Mexican military trained in special ops. The mercenary organization is said to include members of corrupt Mexican Federales, politicians as well as drug traffickers. The group was once part of the Gulf cartel, but has since splintered and now directly competes with the Gulf cartel for premium drug smuggling routes in the Texas region.[snip]

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Narcotics Unit has confirmed that the camp at the origin of the fire was an illegal marijuana operation believed to be run by a Mexican National Drug Organization. The Narcotics Unit has been working in the area within the last month eradicating other nearby marijuana cultivation sites.

Although the La Brea Fire started more than one week ago, there is evidence that the unburned marijuana garden area has been occupied within the last several days. It is also believed that the suspects are still within the San Rafael Wilderness trying to leave the area on foot. How many people in the United States died for illegal immigration last month? How many more were raped or seriously injured?

There is really no way to accurately count the number. For Instance, Oregon has just announced a website for tracking dangerous, predatory sex offenders. They do not offer legal status and under “race” there is no category, for instance, for Hispanic. They are counted as “white”. The law does not recognize “hispanic” or Guatemalan or Mexican or Salvadoran, etc. as a race.

Media outlets often fail to note the legal status of perpetrators, if the information is even released to them by law enforcement. Some LEO s don’t even ask for status.

Yet every day, in any town, USA, you can hear local news about such crimes. Sometimes they make the national news and there is an abundance in spite of the lack of details.

5. Colton, Calif., July 5, 1997 - Robert Castro, age unknown: Resendiz confesses and is linked to the murder of Castro, whose body was found along the railroad tracks. Castro was killed by a blow to the head with a rail car coupling.

6. Lexington, Ky., Aug. 29, 1997 - Christopher Maier, 21: The University of Kentucky student was bashed in the head by Resendiz with a large rock along a railroad track. Maier's girlfriend was raped and beaten but survived and later testified.

7. Hughes Springs, Texas, Oct. 2, 1998 - Leafie Mason, 87: Beaten to death in her home with a fire iron by Resendiz, who entered through a window just yards from the Kansas City-Southern Rail line.

8. Carl, Ga., Dec. 11, 1998 - Fannie Byers, 81: Bludgeoned to death in her home. Just after his arrest, Resendiz provides key information that leads to his connection and authorities drop charges against another man.

9. West University Place, Texas, Dec. 17, 1998 - Dr. Claudia Benton, 39: The researcher was found beaten 19 times with her favorite antique statue in this Houston suburb. She had been assaulted after her death. Resendiz is linked to her death through fingerprints and later convicted and sentenced to death.

10-11. Weimar, Texas, May 2, 1999 - The Rev. Norman Sirnic, 46, and Karen Sirnic, 47: Both were beaten to death with a 16-pound sledgehammer in their home, near railroad tracks. She was assaulted after her death.

12. Houston, Texas, June 4, 1999 - Noemi Dominguez, 26: The teacher was beaten to death with a pickax. Resendiz said he killed her because she had abortion literature. She was assaulted after her death.

13. Fayette County, Texas, June 4, 1999 - Josephine Konvicka, 73: She was killed hours later with the same pickax as Dominguez.

14-15. Gorham, Ill., June 15, 1999 - George Morber Sr., 80, and Carolyn Frederick, 51: Resendiz shot and killed Morber before clubbing his daughter to death. Frederick was also assaulted after her death. Resendiz is later seen driving Fredrick's red pickup.

NOTE: On Sept. 6, 1979, Resendiz broke into 88-year-old Gilbert Chase's Miami home. Chase was beaten severely, but he didn't die for months. Resendiz was charged only with assault because it couldn't be discounted that old age was the man's cause of death. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison, and was released after having served six years.

Web Archives Confirm Barack Obama Was Member Of Socialist 'New Party' In 1996

In June sources released information that during his campaign for the State Senate in Illinois, Barack Obama was endorsed by an organization known as the Chicago "New Party". The 'New Party' was a political party established by the Democratic Socialists of America (the DSA) to push forth the socialist principles of the DSA by focusing on winnable elections at a local level and spreading the Socialist movement upwards. The admittedly Socialist Organization experienced a moderate rise in numbers between 1995 and 1999. By 1999, however, the Socialist 'New Party' was essentially defunct after losing a supreme court challenge that ruled the organizations "fusion" reform platform as unconstitutional.

After allegations surfaced in early summer over the 'New Party's' endorsement of Obama, the Obama campaign along with the remnants of the New Party and Democratic Socialists of America claimed that Obama was never a member of either organization. The DSA and 'New Party' then systematically attempted to cover up any ties between Obama and the Socialist Organizations. However, it now appears that Barack Obama was indeed a certified and acknowledged member of the DSA's New Party.

On Tuesday, I discovered a web page that had been scrubbed from the New Party's website. The web page which was published in October 1996, was an internet newsletter update on that years congressional races. Although the web page was deleted from the New Party's website, the non-profit Internet Archive Organization had archived the page.

Obama's membership within the 'New Party' is disturbing as even Green Party members attacked the DSA and New Party as nothing more than a fringe group. The New Party had hoped to implement Socialist Rule in the United States and was established to counteract the influence of a Democratic Party that they viewed as too moderate and too centered. Now it seems that nearly 10 years after the socialist party fell apart, their strategy of upward growth has reached the White House. Obama's ties to the DSA's New Party is beyond just an association it is outright membership, as clearly defined by the parties August 1996 newsletter, in an outright Socialist organization.

What is truly interesting about this story is that the local CBS TV affiliate, KTVL Channel 10 finally ‘gets it’. They actually did some reporting on these pot farms being run on public lands by organized Mexican Drug Cartels after years of many of us pleading with them to inform the public of this danger. What is frightening, is how real that danger has become.

This marijuana grow stretched 2 miles. For years, our local sheriffs have fought these incursions, only to watch them grow more widespread. Siskiyou county is a conservative, quiet sparsely populated huge land mass. Along peaceful country roads that have been settled by old families, independent, self reliant types, late in the night citizens now hear voices in Spanish conversing as they walk up and down ‘patrolling’.

We knew the cartels were armed, that they contained the worst elements of Mexican organized crime; the Zeta’s, various cartels, MS-13, awol military. What we didn’t know, is now that their enterprise of growing on millions of acres of USA land became so successful , is that now the cartels are at war with each other over ‘territory’ and contraband crops. One group may go in and cultivate the crop, only to have it taken with force by a better armed gang.

We have been warned for years in the counties of No.California and So. Oregon to stay clear of the ‘woods’, to never approach anything that looked like a pot farm.
Now we are being warned of the war between the cartels taking place on our peaceful country lanes. It is easier for the cartels to recruit laborers, with less risk to grow on these ‘protected sanctuaries’ than it is in Mexico. Where shall we go to escape?

Last week these cartels burned 860,000 acres in California. Will we become ‘collateral’ damage to their fires or their bullets? Unlike Mexico, in what has become an every day occurrence , we’ve had no beheadings...yet.

Our Department of Homeland security is spending billions in Mexico to help them fight these cartels there, to keep any of our guns from entering Mexico. But they say they don’t have the money to stop these invading armies from crossing the border and infiltrating our property. This congress refuses to fund a fence, but they’ll fund our people to go to Mexico and tell you this entire problem is the fault of the USA because some of our guns go to Mexico. When their criminal cast-offs are stopped from coming in, our guns will stop going out since the same people are working both sides of the border.

Pfc. Michael Jackson Apodaca, 18 who was arrested Monday, is accused of working as a paid hit man, and assassinating a member of the Juarez Cartel who had become an informant for U.S. authorities.

Along with Apodaca, El Paso police have charged Ruben Rodriguez Dorado, 30, and Christopher Andrew Duran, 17 with capital murder.

The informant, Jose Daniel Gonzalez Galeana, was shot several times at his home on May 15.

Both Dorado and Duran told detectives that Apodaca was the one paid to carry out the execution. Witness accounts along with the police investigation have confirmed this.

Pfc. Apodaca enlisted in the Army in September 2008. He is stationed with the 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade at Fort Bliss.

While this is the first known instance of a U.S. soldier working as an assassin for the drug cartels, this may simply be a consequence of the evolving threat posed to this country by the cartels, as well as a result of the criminal gang activity which now exists in the U.S. military.

In April 2009, the FBI released a statement on the growing problem of gangs in the military, and the threat they now pose to U.S. police officers. What follows is an excerpt from that statement:

“Gang members with military training pose a unique threat to law enforcement personnel because of the distinctive military skills that they possess and their willingness to teach these skills to fellow gang members. While the number of gang members trained by the military is unknown, the threat that they pose to law enforcement is potentially significant, particularly if gang members trained in weapons, tactics, and planning pass this instruction on to other gang members.”

The National Gang Assessment Center has identified the following Latino street and prison gangs as having gang members who were trained in the U.S. military:

-18th Street Gang

-Florencia 13

-Latin Kings

-Mexican Mafia (La Eme)

-MS 13

-Norteños

-Sureños

The military does not currently keep data on gang activity within their ranks. However, FBI gang investigator Jennifer Simon said in a recent article: "Gang membership in the U.S. Armed Forces is disproportional to the U.S. population.”

The prevailing estimate among most experts is that out of every 100 people who enter the military, at least two are gang members.

One of the reasons for the increasing number of gang members joining the military, is the fact that the lowering of recruiting standards, mainly by the Army. Of course, this is due to the two wars dragging on in Afghanistan and Iraq.

According to the Michael D. Palm Center at the University of California, between 2003 and 2006, recruiters allowed 4,230 convicted criminals into the Army.

A note from Mike Cutler, former INS agent, who sent out this article:

"Today, with some 230 American cities being identified as being infested by the extremely violent Mexican drug cartels with additional cities also being infested by other similarly violent gangs, the potential for extreme violence being perpetrated against our citizens and our law enforcement officials is obviously a serious threat and must be dealt with swiftly and decisively by our federal government.

It is now estimated that there are, already, more gang members in our country than sworn police officers.

The discussions about the creation of a massive amnesty program for millions of illegal aliens as we are hearing at the present is nothing short of alarming! I you add the number of alien gang members with the number of United States citizens who have been and continue to be recruited into gangs now, the numbers are truly staggering!

It is a virtual certainty that such an amnesty would provide gang members with even more opportunities to enlist in our military to receive the training that would enable them to do to the United States what Los Zetas is now doing to Mexico.

You might say that the "handwriting is on the wall" and in this case the handwriting is the gang graffiti that is used to mark off territory by gangs seeking to control their turf..

Furthermore, it is unconscionable that this issue, of gang violence, is never addressed by so-called "pro-immigrant" organizations. These folks know damned well that these threats are often used by the various ethnic gangs and that this is not limited to just Latino gangs but is used by every gang from every foreign country and ethnicity.

The outrage is that often lawful immigrants who arrive in our country expecting to live a life free of the violence and threats of violence that terrified them in their home countries quickly find that the same thugs who made their lives miserable back home have managed to come to the United States and continue to prey upon them and their families both in the United States and in their home countries as well.

This is certainly not the "American Dream" but does represent one hell of a nightmare!
It is now estimated that there are, already, more gang members in our country than sworn police officers.

The large scale apathy demonstrated by citizens of this nation has emboldened elected representatives to all but ignore the needs of the average American citizen in a quest for massive campaign funds and the promises of votes to be ostensibly delivered by special interest groups. There is much that we cannot do but there is one thing that We the People absolutely must do- we must stop sitting on the sidelines!

The collective failure of We the People to get involved in make our concerns known to our politicians have nearly made the concerns of the great majority of the citizens of this nation all but irrelevant to the politicians.

California fires caused by Mexican cartel: officials

The fires that hit a protected forest area in mountains close to the north-western California city of Santa Barbara could have been started by Mexican drug traffickers, officials say.

"The reality is that we could have an army out there and not be able to cover all of that ground," Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown told reporters, saying he based his claim on the size of a marijuana farm and equipment found where the fire began.

His statement confirmed claims made over the weekend by officials at Los Padres National Forest.

Some 30,000 marijuana plants, some as high as six feet (1.83 metres), were found in a remote forest area officials say was likely being used as an illegal pot garden by a Mexico-based drug operation.

A special team of US Forest Service, a counternarcotics police unit and investigators from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department uncovered stacks of propane tanks, irrigation tubing, empty fertilizer canisters, a cooking stove and a semi-automatic rifle, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The major Los Padres fire has been burning since August 8, destroying over 88,650 acres (35,875 hectares) but is now 75 per cent under control, Calfire said.

Local counternarcotics units had travelled through the same area several months ago and were surprised by the new find.

So far this year, US Forest Service and Santa Barbara County counternarcotics agents have uprooted a record 225,058 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $US675 million ($816 million) dollars.

In July, agents pulled 113,000 plants at a camp not far from the site where the fire broke out.

Santa Barbara is about 350 kilometres from the US border with Mexico between San Diego and Tijuana, one of the most patrolled points along the nearly 3000-kilometre long divide between the two North American countries.

ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST - Decked out in fatigues and climbing gear, sheriff's detectives and U.S. Forest Service officers Friday took down an about 4-acre marijuana grow in Cow Canyon.

As a Sheriff's helicopter circled overhead, the 11-member Marijuana Enforcement Team pushed through a steep half mile of thick brush to access about three plots and destroy close to 650 marijuana plants growing near Mount Baldy.

"This stuff would go straight to the street. The excessive availability of marijuana on the street is just nauseating," said L.A. County Sheriff's Sgt. Mike Hannemann.

It's unknown how many pot grows are in the forest, but authorities are often tipped off by hikers, he said. The team goes on about one operation a week.

Parts of the grow site were terraced and plants were dotted through brush.

Makeshift reservoirs and black piping brought water to plants, some of which were about six feet tall. A tent was set up for shelter and items like shoes, drink cans, dish soap, instant noodle soup cups and other trash were strewn about.

Marijuana was hung to dry near the tent.

The creek that runs through the site was dammed and polluted by the pot growers, Hannemann said. The team suspected the person living there and maintaining the grow had fled just before the 8 a.m. arrival of the detectives.

A hand radio programmed to a Spanish talk station was left behind and was still on.

Chemicals at the site, such as fertilizer and rodent poison, pollute the forest and kill wildlife, detectives said. The pot growers are often armed and sometimes shoot animals for food and self-defense.

Drug cartels south of the border often run the grows, detectives said.

"It's mostly controlled by Mexican drug cartels who fund it and profit from it," said L.A. County Sheriff's Detective Scott Schulze.

Most people hired to stay at the site and maintain the plants are Mexican nationals paid by the cartels, Schulze said.

The team pulled all the plants and was about to have them flown out by helicopter. But a lightning strike from a passing thunderstorm west of the grow forced an early departure.

Smoke was seen but no fire was confirmed, a U.S. Forest Service official said.

Hannemann said a reclamation team from the Forest Service will return to clean up the site

CLINTON COUNTY, Ohio -- The nation's drug war and Mexico's drug cartels are in our back yards, hidden in crops and hillsides throughout rural Ohio counties.Agents from the state Attorney General's Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI) have found huge pot farms, which they've dubbed "megafarms," during routine summer marijuana eradication programs.In the past three years, they've linked six of those megafarms to drug cartels, said Scott Duff, a special agent supervisor for the attorney general's narcotics division."We've seen an increase in some really, really large patches of marijuana that are generally controlled by Mexican drug cartels," Duff said.Of those six, four of the farms are linked to Mexico.Mexico's cartels are similar to corporations in that their funds are endless and they send "worker-bees" to cart their drugs and run their marijuana farms.When asked how agents and deputies are able to make the connection, Duff said the operations are similar."The style of the grows, the way they set their grows up, with campsites, they live among their grows," Duff said

.Authorities said the problem is they rarely catch anyone working at those campsites. They see evidence, tents, cooking and cultivation areas, but the culprits are long gone.Muskingum County deputies prosecuted seven men after a traffic stop in September 2008. A Crooksville patrolman and a Perry County deputy were investigating a hit-and-run crash involving seven Hispanic men in one car. The deputies said they smelled marijuana and saw what looked like marijuana. A drug dog then tipped officers to even more pot.Because deputies had found a large outdoor marijuana farm just that summer, they did a routine air search by helicopter to determine whether more grows were in the same vicinity as that traffic stop.They found more than 5,000 plants in neighboring Muskingum County, enough to fill four dump trucks. All seven men pleaded guilty to various marijuana possession charges. One man served time. Muskingum County is still investigating.Authorities got another break on Sept. 21. Eleven men, including their alleged ringleader, were arrested near Logan and Muskingum counties. It was a hunter who found the plants and called police.The men are being held without bond while agents determine who they work for and how they made their way to Ohio. All 11 suspects face charges of conspiracy to cultivate more than 100 marijuana plants, a crime punishable by at least five years and up to 40 years in prison if found guilty.In Clinton County this September, deputies and BCI agents found outdoor grows but couldn't link any of them to a particular suspect.Lieutenant Brian Edwards said, "95 percent of the time, the actual landowners, especially in the cornfields, have no knowledge its on their property. People just trespass and plant it.

"Clinton County farmer Steve Murphy leases hundreds of acres and said it's not uncommon to stumble upon those grows during harvest seasons. He said he doesn't like anyone "tromping around" his property.The eradication operations will continue next summer. In the meantime, state agents are investigating evidence left at many of the grows. They are extracting DNA and lifting fingerprints from those sites in hopes of connecting the worker bees to their ringleaders.

A Columbus man portrayed as the ringleader and 10 Mexican nationals have been arrested and charged with cultivating two sizable plots of marijuana that could be linked to drug cartels south of the Rio Grande.

The arrests, involving marijuana-growing operations in Muskingum and Logan counties, were announced this afternoon by Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray and other state, local and federal authorities.

More than two dozen law enforcement officers lay in wait yesterday and then descended on the operation near Adams Mills in Muskingum County, chasing and ultimately arresting 10 workers tending to the crop, officials said.

The man whom authorities say led the pot ring, Hugo Ayala, 40, was arrested by federal agents and Columbus police at his apartment on Clybourne Road on the North Side. Ayala is a legal U.S. resident. (Note: many of these Mexican growers have been found with USA issued Green Cards....and congress wants to give more of them out!)

A total of 2,500 marijuana plants were seized near the Muskingum River and from a plot near Zanesfield in Logan County. The plants carried a street value of about $5 million, officials said.

The investigation began four months ago when hunters stumbled across the-then young marijuana plants and a campsite in Logan County, said Sheriff Andrew Smith.

Ayala is believed to have shuttled his work crews from Columbus to their duties in the marijuana fields both east and northwest of the city, authorities said.

He and the others appeared in U.S. District Court in Dayton today and will have detention hearings on Thursday. The conspiracy to cultivate marijuana charges they face carry five to 40 years in prison.

Authorities said yesterday's arrests were unusual. While officials have located and large marijuana-growing operations in recent years, they seldom have made arrests of those cultivating the crops.

The marijuana picked yesterday likely was destined to be sold in Ohio, with profits perhaps returning to Mexican drug cartels, authorities said.

About 60,000 marijuana plants have been seized in Ohio this year, well above the 48,000 eradicated last year.

But on federal ground, deputies said they are increasingly finding gardens with connections to Mexican drug cartels.

“In the last 5 years we’ve seen a pretty good increase in cartel activity - and it’s active,” said Ewing. “I’m not prepared to give any numbers right now, but we’ve worked cartels this year.”

According to the U.S. Department of Justice’s National Drug Intelligence Center’s 2010 national drug threat assessment, the number of plants removed from public land grew more than 300 percent from 2004 to 2008, primarily from pot gardens operated by Mexican cartels.

So, is county law enforcement winning the battle against illegal marijuana?

LCSO said the battle is fifty-fifty, and although they wish they had more resources to dedicate to marijuana eradication, they remain optimistic that they hold the upper hand.

Weed Wars: California marijuana vote closely watched south of the border

Some of the most anxious observers of California's November vote to legalize marijuana for recreational use are ineligible to vote because they are located south of the border in Mexico.

Prop 19 proponents argue that the most nervous observers are the Mexican drug cartels, whose operations could be undercut by legal marijuana in the Golden State.

But leading political intellectuals in Mexico are also wondering whether the California vote will open the door to seriously considering legalizing marijuana in Mexico.

Tim Johnson, the Mexico City Bureau Chief for McClatchy Newspapers, including The Sacramento Bee, recently wrote that Proposition 19 is a huge topic of interest in the country ravaged by drug violence.

His recent report described Prop 19 as a bellwether in Mexico as to whether legalizing pot may be seen as an answer to the country's deadly scourge - or perhaps a political affront to the United States.

""If they vote 'yes' to approve the full legalization of marijuana, I think it will have a radical impact in Mexico," Jorge Hernandez Tinajero, a political scientist at the National Autonomous University, told Johnson.

In a recent commentary in The Washington Post, former Mexican foreign minister Jorge G. Castañeda and historian and magazine publisher Héctor Aguilar Camín wrote that the California vote represents "almost the whole enchilada" for how Mexico should shape future policy on marijuana.

"We have believed for some time that Mexico should legalize marijuana and perhaps other drugs," they wrote. "But until now, most discussion of this possibility has foundered because our country's drug problem and the U.S. drug problem are so inextricably linked...As a result, the debate over legalization has inevitably gotten hung up over whether Mexico should wait until the United States is willing and able to do the same."
