It's been 2 years since they tore down the Jefferson statue in Oregon. I was near there visiting a friend. When I heard the news, I wanted to do something. Anything! I felt helpless when all I could do was cry. 

We met his childhood friend for lunch and sadly the leftist friend just had to proclaim the destruction a good thing. I have never made a scene,

 but I wasn't kind. I didn't yell. 

"I don't eat with traitors".  I left. 

The coward I was with claimed to be a staunch conservative but wouldn't open his mouth and sat there and had lunch while I waited in the parking lot. I packed and went home. Within a few weeks my home burned.

We are so outnumbered in Oregon.
