R.I.P. President Gerald Ford

I was confined to a hospital bed recovering from a near fatal auto accident when Richard Nixon resigned. My first question was Jerry who??? I was furious that we were presented with a new president that NO ONE elected. I was angry at Gerald Ford for a decade because he pardoned Nixon. I wanted to see a perp walk after being cheated out of impeachment!

Well, the Bill Clinton fiasco cured me of that.

And 30 years, hopefully, makes one wiser.

History seems to show that we got a better president in Gerald Ford who was picked by a failed president Nixon, than we've had in 50 years of electing one ourselves.

That should tell us something.

Maybe we should have let Bill Clinton pick his successor. :<)
